As a country of poetry,China has so much important cultural heritages of civilization which insisted of literary and poetry works during its long history of development.Ancient poetry shoulders the mission of inheriting Chinese culture and also plays an important role in primary school education.However,the current teaching situation of ancient poetry in primary schools is not that satisfactory as many teachers even have fears about the teaching of ancient poetry.As a result,there are few ancient poetry classes in the open and competition classes.Grasping the characteristics of ancient poetry is the basis for analyzing the current situation,reasons and strategies of ancient poetry teaching,and also the basis for teachers to handle with a good ancient poetry lessons.In this way,the first part of this thesis starts from the characteristics of ancient poetry,by discussing the use of words,the stacking of images and the rhythm of poetry;it reveals the visual effects and auditory effects of poetry.The second part of this thesis is the analysis of the current situation of ancient poetry teaching and the explanation of the reasons based on the questionnaire survey.The questionnaires were conducted among the teachers and students in specific schools and the analysis of the data showed the current situation of teaching and learning of ancient poetry in primary school.This thesis also analyzes the reasons from the aspects of the characteristics of ancient poetry,the teaching design and teaching development.The third part of the thesis puts forward the effective teaching strategies and suggestions.It mainly elaborates on four aspects:stimulating students' interest,paying attention to the overall sentiment,adopting effective methods,and distinguishing between years of teaching.
