The arrival of the Intellectual Economy Era has made creative intellectuals to play a more and more vital role in the development of human society while also posing higher requirements on China's college education.In 2012,China Communist Party's 18 th National Representative Conference sent a clear message to colleges,which focuses on educating intellectuals,scientific research,social service,and multiple other missions.The conference required colleges to build up an educational model which combine scientific creation and developing creative intellectuals promptly.In April 2015,the Ministry of Education came up with “the new trend and new mission of combining science and education,” which guided colleges to the path of establishing new educational module.Fusion based on "science and education" from idea to practice time background,this study is based on the perspective of education,higher education management,on the basis of literature review on the literature study method analyzed the Humboldt put forward the concept of "the unity of teaching and research",and based on the idea of practice are studied and the derivative of the history of university teaching and scientific research.Based on the comparison of the two historical stages,the changes of the combination of university teaching and scientific research are presented,which enriches the research achievements in Humboldt's "unity of teaching and scientific research" concept,university teaching and scientific research and integration of science and education.The research shows that Humboldt,as a new humanist,put forward the idea of "unification of teaching and scientific research" on the basis of his own idea of university running and the concept of "perfect man" cultivation after the enlightenment.Under the specific historical conditions,Humboldt's idea of "unification of teaching and research" was transformed into the running practice of the university of Berlin,thus creating a new running mode based on pure science and realizing the mutual promotion,coordination and unification of university teaching and university research.After entering the 20 th century,university scientific research changed,and modern science replaced pure science as the cornerstone of university scientific research.Under the influence of the increasing enrollment and other factors,universities began to face the crisis of separation of science and education,and the combination of university teaching and scientific research faced huge challenges.In the second half of the 20 th century,the changes in social development began to make people pay more attention to the combination of university teaching and scientific research.The mission shouldered by modern universities made them start to rebuild the combination of university teaching and scientific research,and replace the "unity of teaching and scientific research" in Humboldt era with the mode of "integration of science and education".Compared with the past practice of combining teaching and research,the integration of science and education in modern universities realizes the coordination of the three missions of talent cultivation,scientific research and social service,and becomes the engine of social development.Meanwhile,the integration of science and education in modern universities has realized the integration of disciplines,majors and courses,breaking through the limitations of talent cultivation in the ivory tower during the Humboldt era.The talent cultivation gradually turns to pay equal attention to academic innovation and technological innovation,thus cultivating a large number of professional talents and future citizens for the society.Therefore,throughthe integration of science and education,the university not only performs the function of talent cultivation well,but also gives full play to the role of "intellectual city" of modern university,and then establishes a school-running mode integrating scientific and technological innovation and the cultivation of innovative talents on the basis of fully meeting the social needs.
