A Study On Policy Of American Community College During The Obama Administration

American Community College is an important undertaker of American higher vocational education.It has a history of nearly 100 years and is an important part of American education system.During President Obama's eight years in office,in order to cope with the economic crisis and reshape the American Dream,President Obama made the reform and development of community colleges the top priority of his education reform,and introduced a series of policies.The promulgation and implementation of these policies have greatly promoted the development of community colleges,but also played a certain role in promoting the rise of the American economy.This paper mainly uses literature analysis,comparative study and historical analysis to study the policy of American community colleges during the Obama administration from all aspects and from many angles.Combining with the current situation of Higher Vocational Education in China,it inspires the reform and development of Higher Vocational Education in China by drawing lessons from the advantages of the policy.This paper consists of five parts:The first part is introduction.The purpose,significance,definition of core concepts,and research progress at home and abroad of this paper are summarized.And the research methods are elaborated.The second part is about the development and changes of American Community College policy.This part mainly combs the policies on Community Colleges before President Obama takes office,and analyses the development of community colleges and the general situation of the policy development before President Obama takes office.The third part is the interpretation of American Community College policy during the Obama administration.Starting from the background of the implementation of the Obama policy,this part analyses the content of the policy during the Obama administration from four aspects: the support of students in community colleges,the strengthening of cooperation between community colleges and enterprises,the strengthening of the modernization of community colleges,and the free community college plan.The fourth part is the analysis of American Community College policy during the Obama administration.This part mainly reviews the policies of community colleges during the Obama administration,affirms their contributions to the development of American community colleges and the economic revitalization of the United States,and points out the limitations of the policies.The fifth part is the enlightenment of the development of American community colleges' policy to our higher vocational education in the period of the Obama administration.This part mainly analyses and studies the policies of community colleges during the period of the Obama administration,and puts forward some suggestions for the development and improvement of Higher Vocational Education in China from three aspects: increasing the financial support for poor students,deepening the cooperation between schools and enterprises,and improving the curriculum system and professional settings.
