Under the umbrella of sports communication,sports presentation can be understood as the packaging of the sports event.It will stage the event through a series of elements such as broadcast,music,video,lighting,performance,bringing different experiences to the audience and the participating athletes.Sports presentation plays an important role in promoting sports culture and hosting city's culture.The concept of sports presentation entered China through the Beijing Olympic Games.It has been around for more than ten years and achieved great development.As a segment of the sports industry,sports presentation has gradually formed certain industry ecology,especially after a series of mega sports events such as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games,the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games as well as some individual sports events or commercial events.Through combined methods of survey,in-depth interviews and participant observation,this study aims to find out sports presentation's localization trajectory,development patterns and features as well as existing problems in China.The report concludes with some suggestions for its future development.The findings show that the recognition of sports presentation as an imported concept is increasing in China.In practice,sports presentation in China developed through two main channels: mega sports events and various individual sports events or commercial events.The former's sports presentation has a clear trajectory of exploration,steady development,optimized development and ushering in a new round of development,while the latter's sports presentation has been developed unevenly and more entertainment-oriented.Mega sports events hosted in China have formed a relatively comprehensive professional system of sports presentation while single sports events and commercial events have brought more opportunities for professionalization of sports presentation.Both channels helped China cultivate local practitioners of sports presentation.However,sports presentation in China suffered from its low popularity and low level of professionalization.The sports presentation sector has a high turnover,low threshold and insufficient training There is a certain gap between domestic and international sports presentation.For more sustainable development of sports presentation in China,this report puts forward the following suggestions: to further promote the concept of sports presentation to improve the public and the sports industry's awareness,to improve the professionalization of sports presentation by introducing an industry code and building a career platform for the talents as well as introducing courses on sports presentation at universities.
