The Study Of The Structure Adjustment Of American Higher Education In The Massification Era

Since the massification era,China's higher education has gradually shifted from focusing on scale expansion to pursuing “quantitative stability and qualitative improvement”.As a result,the structural issue has received increasing attention.The structure of higher education in China is still not perfect,and can't satisfiy our society.Therefore,optimizing the structure of higher education in China is particularly important.Since the beginning of the massification of American higher education in the 1940 s,its higher education has basically ranked first in the world.However,the massification of American higher education has once faced financial,qualitative and structural problems.The United States has greatly improved the structure of higher education and solve the equity and efficiency problems mainly through legislation and funding.Studying the structure of American higher education can help us to discover the problems,open up new perspectives,and promote the coordinated development of fairness and efficiency.This thesis firstly explains the core concepts and theoretical framework using the literature research method.Secondly,it describe the background of the massification of American higher education,and analyze the basic situation of the structural changes using combining the qualitative and quantitative methods and the historical research method.Then,it judges the improvement of community colleges and research universities.Furthermore,it analyses the measure of the legislation and funding Finally,using the comparative research method,it analyses enlightenment and shortcomings of structural adjustment of American higher education and summary revelation.Through the research,we can draw some conclusions: promote the legalization of higher education to create a good development environment;strengthen the government's support and funding to improve the government's macro-control function of higher education;diversifying the main body of investment,to rebuild the financial structure;optimize the structure of higher educationbased on China's national conditions.Figure 4;Table 17;Reference 54.
