Research On The Harmonious Development Of Equity And Efficiency Of China Higher Education

As two main goals of Higher education, equity and efficiency are always thought to bedifficult to achieve at the same time, many hot issues in the field of higher education refer toequity and efficiency. Harmonious development of higher education’s equity and efficiency canbe thought as an efficiency conception which takes equity as its direction. Efficiency is just amethod while equity is the final goal. Harmonious development of higher education’s equity andefficiency is under the guide of harmonious development conception, and its goal is coordinatingequity with efficiency reasonably, and realizing their collaborative development, and keepingdynamic equilibrium in the process of correlation. Scientific thought of development canpromote social harmony, and at the same time, social harmony can promote faster developmentin the process of harmonious society construction, this kind of relationship is just theembodiment of harmonious development. In this sense, harmonious development of equity andefficiency happens to have the same view with construction of harmonious society, it’ssignificant to both of them. This paper lists the problems and reasons of balancing equity andefficiency in china higher education on the basis of exploration of its concept and requests, andby using contradiction method, it proposes the way how to realize both equity and efficiency inthe field of China higher education.This paper is divided into seven parts: it firstly introduces the background, significance, thecurrent situation of relative research both home and abroad and the innovation of this paper. Itsecondly elaborates the definition of higher education equality, higher education efficiency andharmonious development, then it proposes the definition and requests of harmoniusdevelopment in the field of higher education. After that, it analyses the necessity and feasibilityof the harmonious development in china higher education on the consideration of its importanceto both the construction of harmonius society and social stability. In the fourth part, itsummarizes the history and present situation of china higher education by comparation withEngland、America and India, then proposes some suggestion to these problem in the perspectiveof Chinese national situation. Then by doing some field research on the hot spot issue in the fieldof china higher education, and on the basis of summariztion of these issues divide the topic intothree steps: the beginning of higher education、the development process of higher education andthe outcome of higher education. The sixth part mainly explores the reasons which cause the problems of realization of equlity and efficiency in higher education. And in the last part of thispaper, it explores the effective way how to promote the harmonius development of equlity andefficiency in china higher education, and hopes it will do some good to the government andhigher education department in the process of decision-making.
