With the rapid development of tourism industry,higher requirements have been put forward for tour guides.Secondary vocational education,as an important channel for the transportation of tourism talents,has a direct impact on the quality of tour guides."Tour Guide Practice" is one of the core courses of Tourism Management Specialty in Vocational colleges.Its main teaching contents include the outline of tour guides,tour guide service procedures and standards,problem handling skills and general knowledge of tour guide work.It is also a compulsory subject for tour guide certificates.Therefore,the study of problems and Countermeasures in the teaching of "Tour Guide Practice" in vocational schools conforms to the new curriculum reform and social requirements for tour guides.Taking Shuangfeng Vocational Secondary School in Hunan Province as an example,this paper makes an analysis of the current teaching situation of "Tour Guide Practice" course in secondary vocational schools,probes into the existing problems,and makes an analysis of the causes.Finally,it puts forward the teaching improvement strategies of "Tour Guide Practice" from four aspects: Teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching methods and teaching evaluation.The full text is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction,which elaborates on the issues,research significance,definition of related concepts,literature review and research methods.The second part investigates the teaching staff of Shuangfeng Vocational Secondary School and the teaching situation of Tour Guide Practice,and analyses the problems existing in the teaching activities of Tour Guide Practice.The main problems are: backward teaching concept,monotonous teaching content,single teaching mode,one-sided teaching evaluation and lack of practical teaching.The third part is to analyze the causes of the problems existing in the teaching of "Tour Guide Practice" in secondary vocational schools,which is elaborated from two aspects: teachers' factors and school factors.The main reasons for teachers are the influence of outmoded educational concepts,insufficient understanding of textbooks,and inaccurate grasp of teaching objectives.The main reasons for secondary vocational schools are unreasonable structure of teachers,imperfect school supporting facilities and lack of a standardized teacher vocational training system.The fourth part puts forward the teaching improvement strategies of Tour Guide Practice in secondary vocational schools from the aspects of perfecting teaching objectives,integrating teaching contents,innovating teaching methods and establishing a scientific evaluation system.
