With the rapid development of tourism industry in China,the demand for tourism talents is more important,skill-based and innovative are essential features.Secondary vocational and technical education as the basic link of vocational and technical education,it is required to pay attention to the development of secondary vocational education,so develop skilled students is more important.But at present,the influence of realistic factors such as the existence of practical training base is poor or even lack in the training of tourism talents in secondary vocational school,teacher’s professional skills can’t fit to standard,poor student motivation,school-enterprise cooperation flows into form,all factors are failure to achieve talent training goals.In order to solve this problem,the workers innovative teaching models and methods constantly and achieved some results.Project teaching method,combination of theoretical knowledge and practical process organically,through the implementation of a complete teaching activities fully mobilize students’ creative potential,and improve students’ comprehensive ability to solve problems.In previous studies,the project teaching method is usually applied in higher vocational education system,and mostly focuses on computer,construction,mechanical classes.However,the project teaching method is less studied in secondary vocational and technical education,especially in tourism practice courses.Although the project teaching method has obtained certain research results in the field of vocational and technical education,the application of the project teaching method in tourism secondary vocational education still needs to be improved.This paper introduces the concept,characteristics and implementation process of the project teaching method in detail,and the advantages of the project teaching method are obtained by comparing the project teaching method with the traditional teaching method.Combining with the application practice of the project teaching method in the teaching of "on-site tour guide" in the secondary vocational school,the paper concludes that:Project teaching method can arouse students’ enthusiasm and initiative in learning canenliven classroom atmosphere and improve teaching quality,and can cultivate students’ ability of unity and cooperation and practice.At the same time,in the process of project teaching method implementation,students,teachers and schools need to tripartite cooperation in order to maximize the advantages of the project approach.
