Professional training plays a key role in rural education.This study selects the professional training situation of the SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires as the starting point to carry on the empirical investigation,the research mainly by the questionnaire survey,supplemented by the open interview,has carried on the investigation to 227 SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires from the four special post counties in Hengyang,Hunan Province.This study investigated in the following seven aspects: the training motivation,the expectation,the training opportunity,the content,the way,the effect and the existing problems of the training.The background factors of this research including gender,marital status,pre-service education,teaching age,type of pre-service education,teaching schools and its geographical location,job position and professional title.The basic conclusions of the investigation are as follows:1.SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires have strong motivation to participate in training.The expectation that schools or higher departments can consult their professional learning needs regularly and plan or carry out relevant training accordingly is high;2.The training opportunity of SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires can be satisfied basically,but not enough;3.The quality of the professional training content is higher,the training method is more abundant,the training effect is better;4.The training methods of male SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires are more abundant than that of female teachers;5.The motivation and quality of training content of SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires with junior college education are higher than that of undergraduate teachers;6.The motivationof SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires whose teaching age is less than 4 years is significantly higher than that of teachers with less than 6 years of teaching age;7.The motivation of the motivation of SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires graduating from normal schools is higher than that of non-normal teachers.The author tries to analyze the causes of the basic conclusions and discuss three main problems: the problem that the training opportunity of SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires is not fully satisfied;the problem of the training methods of female SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires is more simple than that of male teachers,and the problem of motivation decline after two years of staying in training.Finally,this research puts forward some suggestions on how to promote the active participation of SCT who continue to teach after their service contract expires in professional training from three aspects:creating a just and harmonious system and cultural environment,providing strong professional development support and cultivating teachers' awareness of professional development.
