With the progress of the new teaching reform,basic education has changed the requirements for teachers and students.Teachers should teach centering on the key competencies,and students should learn embracing the key competencies.Subject course is the significant way and important carrier for achieving the goals of the key competencies.Therefore,clarifying the relevant concepts of the key competencies of biology,investigating the level of the key competencies of students' biology,doing teaching practice in the biology classes,and proposing teaching suggestions are of great significance for cultivating the key competencies of students in biology.Collected,teased and analyzed the related concepts and the status quo of research at home and abroad of the key competencies in biology with the methods of literature analysis.Questionnaire and interview survey methods were used to investigate the status of the key competencies in high school biology subject.By writing instructional design,teaching practice,constructing teaching cases and analyzing them,we proposed targeted teaching suggestions.The literature analysis shows that there is more research on the connotation,extension,definition,teaching strategy and academic examination of the key competencies of biology subject,and there is less research on the systematic research and evaluation system of the key competencies of biology.The results of the questionnaire show that there is still a certain gap between the key competencies level of students ' biology and the requirement of biology curriculum reform in the new era of our country.There is no difference in the life concept of male and female students,and there are significant differences in scientific thinking,scientific inquiry and social responsibility,which shows that male students have better scientific inquiry and scientific thinking.Girls have better social responsibility quality.The interview results show that the biology teachers in senior high school adopt various teaching strategies in the teaching process,actively practice the cultivation of the core accomplishment of biology discipline,at the same time,there are some problems such as not enriching the preparation resources,few training opportunities and imperfect evaluation system,and making rich relevant teaching resources,carrying out relevant training and forums in view of the existing problems.Improve the evaluation system and other suggestions.In view of the problems existing in the investigation results,select the teaching contents,use the appropriate teaching strategies to carry out teaching practice,construct the teaching examples,and carry out the analysis of the cases.Based on investigation and teaching practice,this paper puts forward some teaching suggestions to cultivate the key competencies of biology subject,including paying attention to concept teaching and cultivating life concept,using model construction,cultivating scientific thinking,carrying out various forms of experiment,improving scientific inquiry competencies,creating situation and permeating social responsibility.
