At present,“key competencies” has become an important concept for China's basic education reform,and it is considered to be the key to deepening basic education curriculum reform and implementing quality education goals.The Ordinary Senior High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)is based on the target developing the key competencies of Chinese students,and it puts forward the key competencies of biology.It also requires students to develop their key competencies in terms of concepts of life,scientific thinking,scientific inquiry,and social responsibility.High school biology teaching will be based on the purpose of developing students' key competencies.Therefore,it is theoretically necessary to understand the concept and connotation of biological key competencies,and it is particularly important to investigate the level of biological key competencies of high school students and the current state of about key competencies education.The introductory part mainly includes the background of the topic,the research significance,the literature review,and the research design and research methods.In addition to the introduction,the content of the paper can be summarized in three parts:Firstly,in this paper,theoretical research was carried out.By meanings of reading relevant documents,the concepts and connotations of key competencies and biological key competencies were analyzed and defined.the evolution of disciplinary key competencies is studied in the process of revision of biological curriculum standards;And the biological key competencies was deeply interpreted from four aspects: life concept,scientific thinking,scientific inquiry and social responsibility.Then,investigation and study was conducted,including questionnaires,interviews and experiences in biology teaching.Based on the four dimensions of the biological key competencies,a questionnaire is compiled to investigate the current biological key competencies level of the students in a school.It is found that the key competencies level of the students is low,they have some knowledge of biological science,but they do not form scientific thinking,nor are they likely to understand migration application.According to the interview and the classroom teaching practice,the current state of biological key competencies developing was found.It was found that the biology teaching is still based on knowledge teaching,but the students are the leading role.In terms of teaching methods,teachers used heuristic teaching or inquiry based teaching to cultivate students' thinking ability.The cultivation of core literacy in the analysis of biology teaching is mainly limited by the classroom teaching mode,the allocation of biological resources,the teaching philosophy and professional ability of teachers.Finally,based on the existing problems,we try to put forward suggestions,including:changing the teaching mode and cultivating the key competencies of the students;Strengthen the allocation of biological resources and organize exploration activities according to local conditions;Promote the professional development of teachers and the transformation of educational concepts.
