As products of Chinese culture,folk stories are orally created and passed down by the masses.They tell about people's productive labor and ideological perception in the form of words or languages,and express their aesthetic preferences and artistic interests.It is highly feasible and valuable to apply folk stories in kindergarten language education.In this study,the researcher used methods of literature,observation,interview and case analysis and reviewed and studied a large amount of literature.Through observing the application of folk stories in language education in L kindergarten in Luoyang City,Henan Province,and interviewing twenty-one preschool teachers in L kindergarten,the researcher obtained relevant materials for the application of folk stories in kindergarten language education,analyzed the results of the survey and put forward corresponding educational suggestions.This study includes four parts.The first part is an introduction elaborating on the origin of the study,the related research summary of the topic,the purpose and significance of the study,the object of study and research methods,and definitions of the core concepts.The second part is the theoretical analysis of the application of folk stories in kindergarten language education.Firstly,the significance of folk stories in kindergarten language education activities is discussed from three aspects: the significance of folk stories for children's language development,children's language education and cultural heritage.Then it analyses the applicability of folk tales in kindergarten language education and sums up the basic requirements of the application of folk tales in kindergarten language education in five aspects:the goal,content,method,form and home cooperation of folk tales in kindergarten language education.The third part is the observation of the current situation of folk stories in kindergarten language education.The situation is studied in six aspects: teacher's understanding of folk stories,the target,content,method,form and home cooperation of folk stories' application in the language education.The study results are analyzed and appraised.Folk stories' positive roles are recognized in kindergarten language education and existing problems are pinpointedand the reasons are set forth in three aspects of teachers' understanding of folk stories' application in kindergarten language education,teachers' ability to apply folk stories in kindergarten language education and kindergarten's resources of folk stories.The fourth part are suggestions to promote the application of folk stories in kindergarten language education.Teachers are required to strengthen theory study,improve their understanding of the application of folk stories in kindergarten language education,reinforce practical exercises to improve their ability to apply folk tales in kindergarten language education.In addition,the teachers should pay attention to finding kindergarten folk stories curriculum resources.
