Chinese learning is becoming more and more important in Thailand.From kindergartens,primary schools,middle schools,universities to various social classes,educational institutions at all levels have launched Chinese teaching.At present,Chinese teaching in most schools and institutions in Thailand is still in its infancy.Schools hope to carry out colorful extracurricular activities in order to attract more students to study Chinese.Chinese extracurricular activities are closely related to classroom teaching,and pay more attention to the cultivation of students' innovative thinking.It is an indispensable auxiliary form for students to master Chinese knowledge and acquire Chinese application ability as soon as possible.It uses "classroom learning,extracurricular use" to consolidate the knowledge learned.In extra-curricular activities,the clear language knowledge acquired in the classroom will be transformed into Tacit language knowledge,students will change from passive learning to active learning,cultivate interest in learning Chinese,stimulate the desire to engage in Chinese work,and improve Chinese communicative competence.Based on my own teaching experience in Thailand and taking the development of Chinese extracurricular activities in Traimit Wittayalai Boys' Secondary School in Bangkok as an example,the author mainly studies the characteristics and problems of Chinese extracurricular activities in Thai Boys' School,and puts forward improvement measures according to the problems and reasons.By means of questionnaire and interview,the author investigates the development of Chinese extracurricular activities in three schools(boy,girl and mixed school respectively),finds out the differences in the development of Chinese extracurricular activities in boys' schools through comparative analysis,puts forward corresponding solutions based on the analysis of reasons and current situation,and designs a reference plan for Chinese extracurricular activities.The first part of the paper elaborates the reasons for the topic selection and the background and situation of Chinese teaching in Traimit Wittayalai Middle School,and literature review,to provide a research basis for the writing of the following articles.The second part elaborates the related concepts and theoretical basis of Chinese extracurricular activities.Summarized the relevant concepts in academic circles,the author will define the Chinese extracurricular activities,based on professional theory and practical investigation.The third part is about the basic information of Traimit Wittayalai Boys' school and the basic discussion of Chinese extracurricular activities in Traimit Wittayalai Boys' school.It summarizes the characteristics of Chinese extracurricular activities in Thai Boys middle schools,which are reflected in the selection of activities content,the organization form of activities and the management form of activities.There are obvious differences between boys' schools,girls' schools and mixed schools.The main characteristics of Chinese extracurricular activities in boys' schools are:(1)boys are more active in organizing planning activities;(2)boys are more interested in communicative activities;(3)boys prefer sports and competitive extracurricular activities;(4)students who participate in language and handicraft extracurricular activities are concentrated in Chinese professional classes.The fourth part is to summarize the problems existing in the process of carrying out Chinese extracurricular activities in Boys School,and to analyze the causes of the problems according to the data.When the School carries out Chinese extracurricular activities,there are problems in four aspects: school,teacher,student and activity itself.(1)poor coordination of work between superiors and subordinates;(2)Chinese teachers are not proficient in organizing and carrying out extracurricular activities;(3)students' participation in Chinese extracurricular activities is low;(4)the content of extracurricular activities is single and meaningless.The main reasons for these problems are as follows:(1)The importance of Chinese extracurricular activities in schools needs to be strengthened.(2)The rapport between Thai and Chinese leading teachers needs to be improved.(3)Professional accomplishment of Chinese teachers needs to be improved.(4)The management methods of students in extracurricular activities need to be improved.The fifth part puts forward appropriate improvement suggestions according to the analysis of problems and reasons:(1)teaching according to the gender of male students;(2)training student cadres to assist in activities;(3)organizing professionally training to improve teachers' professional quality;(5)enriching the content and form of activities;(6)focusing on creatingclassical activities projects;(7)formulating charters to enhance the normative nature of activities.Finally,the paper summarizes the full text,puts forward the inadequacy and innovation of this paper,combined with the author's own teaching experience,from the perspective of the promotion of Chinese language,and provide more teaching reference for Chinese teachers going to Thailand in the future.
