In the context of active aging, the elderly population is promising, especially for the younger people. They are healthier and have more time, which is an important force for community participation.Through community participation, individuals can not only realize their own value, but the benign interaction between individuals and communities can provide an important channel for innovative social governance. Therefore, promoting community participation of the younger age group is not only the needs of the individual, but also the needs of the community and the society as a whole. This paper analyzes the participation of the community of young people in the D community in Gansu Province, and analyzes the community participation status of the young people in the D community: the frequency of community participation is generally low;the willingness to participate in the community is low;the form of community participation is mostly passive participation; The satisfaction of various activities is not high.On this basis, based on the theory of activity and symbolic interaction theory, six group activities were designed and implemented, and finally the group activities were summarized and reflected.Studies have shown that group work has advantages in promoting community participation of young people: laying good interpersonal relationships, focusing on homogeneity, realizing the rational development and utilization of old-age resources, and benefiting groups larger than case work. But at the same time, there are also shortcomings: the singularity of professional methods, the limitations of servicetargets, and the lack of long-term effective follow-up services. And draw the following conclusions: the work of the group should be based on the needs of the client, adhere to the principle of individualization;adhere to the group work, comprehensive casework, community work as a complement to the comprehensive social work methods;need to link and integrate multiple resources to carry out Older group work.
