With the increase of age,the quality of sleep in the elderly shows a downward trend. It is estimated that 40%-70% of the elderly have sleep disorders, and insomnia is the most common sleep disorder. The further decline of the physiological and psychological functions of the elderly has made the problem of insomnia worse.Insomnia usually refers to a subjective experience of patients who are dissatisfied with sleep time or quality of insomnia and affects social function during the day.Long-term insomnia leads to decreased social function, impaired cognitive function, increased risk of falls, and morbidity and mortality. The increase has an important impact on the quality of life of the elderly. In this study, the authors of the professional internship in the institution complained of the elderly with insomnia as the research object, using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the Sleep Belief and Attitude Scale as assessment tools, and through social work under the framework of cognitive behavior theory.Interventions in the form of groups aim to clarify several research questions: What are the current status and influencing factors of insomnia in the elderly? From what aspects can social workers start intervention research? Is it effective to intervene insomnia in the elderly in the form of a social work group? How high is the improvement? What is the specific effect on the various indicators of sleep? This study is an experimental study.Based on the previous research and literature review, the intervention program was constructed to form an intervention manual.Sixteen elderly people from Shanghai M Welfare Institute were selected and combined with their willingness to participate. They were randomly divided into intervention group and control group. After interventions that intervened seven times a month, the study concluded that:1.Older people mainly suffer from insomnia due to their unreasonable cognition, negative emotions and bad behavioral habits.2.Social work using cognitive behavioral therapy to intervene insomnia in the elderly has a certain effect. After intervention, the total score of Pittsburgh sleep quality has a significant downward trend.3.The “Enron Sleeping” group intervention program is in line with the actual situation and needs of the insomnia of the senior teachers. It has practical significance for relieving the symptoms of insomnia in the elderly and improving the insomnia. It is worth further promotion.
