Around August 15 th of the lunar calendar each year,the kindergartens celebrate this national traditional festival,which symbolizes reunions and harvests.So they design a series of activities that are beneficial to the development of young children.The research aiming to understand the characteristics of the Mid-Autumn Festival activities and to analyze the effectiveness and problems of the activities.As a result of that,we propose educational suggestions for improving the Mid-Autumn Festival activities.Firstly,this research summarizes the prior findings from relevant studies concerning the celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival activities in kindergartens for analyzing the characteristics of these results and getting some inspirations.The thesis is also based on "living education" theory,the cultural consciousness theory and the bio-ecological theory,those relevant theories provides a solid fondation for the in-depth and systematic study.This research comprehensively used questionnaire method,interview method,observational method and physical analysis method to collect various information from 382 participants,including questionnaire investigated 256 teachers and 63parents;interviewed 6 priciples,20 teachers,21 parents,15 children and 1 other educator,combined with quantitative research and qualitative research.A various sources of data collection and “triangular mutual authentication” have been proved to improve the reliability and validity of the research.The research started on the Mid-Autumn Festival activities of kindergartens from different perspectives.We take the procedure of the Mid-Autumn Festival activities as the warp and the participants are the weft lines,including the recognition of value,preparations,implementation process and evaluations of the activities.As well as the educational beliefs and educational behaviors of teachers,parents,principals and theeducator.Based on the facts,the research found the positive effects and the existing problems.Based on the above findings,the research puts forward a series of suggestions for preschool teachers,kindergartens,parents,educational management organizations,teacher training institutions and the government,as well as integrates the strengths of all parties to jointly optimize the Mid-Autumn Festival activities in kindergartens.At the end of the research,the new ideas and the limitations in this research are shown and several questions for future research are demostrated.
