With the expansion of higher education,all sectors of society express their opinions,doubts and worries on the quality of graduate education.The master's learning quality is the core of education quality.Actually the research and learning engagement is not only an important process indicator of master's learning quality,but also a key predictor of scientific research ability.Previous studies have mainly focused on master's results about satisfaction,research ability and innovative ability,but this study focuses on the process indicators—research and learning engagement,and explores the influence of supervisor support and peer support in campus on research and learning engagement.This study focus on the following questions: Firstly,what is the current situation of the research and learning engagement of master students in China's top universities?Secondly,what are the differences on the research and learning engagement in different backgrounds? Thirdly,what is the impact of campus social support on research and learning engagement? Fourth,what is the influence mechanism of master's research and learning engagement?In order to solve the above problems,the study uses a mixed research method.Firstly,text analysis methods is used to explore the relevant requirements about research and learning.Secondly,the quantitative research method is used to analyze the influence of the campus social support on the research and learning engagement for the master students.Thirdly,through the structural equation path analysis method,the mechanism of campus social supportinfluence on research and learning engagement is explored.This study draws the following conclusions: First,the level of the research and learning engagement for master students in China'stop university is above the average,and cognitive engagement,emotional engagement,and behavioral engagement are successively decreasing.The system about master's research and learningstill needs to be improved,especially the scientificalness about master's degree obtained in connection with the academic publications is open to question.Second,theresearch and learning engagement is affected by multiple factors.Among the background factors,there are group differences in genders,undergraduate colleges,motivationsand family locations.Among the factors of scientific research organization,there are also differences in the learning and research engagement in terms of the level of supervisor of high-caliber talent,meeting quality and requirements for academic publications,and the scale and structure of the “shimen(master and supervisor)” are more complicated.Third,supervisor support and peer support have a significant positive impact on research and learning engagement.The supervisor support is mainly divided into autonomy and emotional support and supervisorguidance,and the former have more predictive effect on research and learning engagement.As for peer support,model support and task support can directly influence the master's research and learning engagement,but the impact of emotional support needs toanalysis in the specific situation.The Amos road map shows that the research self-efficacy played a mediating role in the impact of campus social support on research and learning engagement.In summary,this study found that campus social support has a significant predictive effect on the research and learning engagement for master students.Based on this,this study puts forward relevant suggestions to promote of master's research and learning engagement from the college level,the supervisor,the peer community and the individual level.
