Aesthetic education is an educational method that cultivates the aesthetic power and aesthetic power of educators through artistic activities. This concept was first proposed by Schiller in the Book of Aesthetic Education.Since the introduction of this concept into China, scholars have combined it with traditional culture, and the research on aesthetic education has developed steadily, with fruitful results. However, due to the differences in the philosophical traditions and cultural backgrounds of different nationalities, there are always some academic problems in the study of aesthetic education in China, and it is difficult to break away from the tendency of "interpreting the West".To build a theoretical system of aesthetic education with Chinese characteristics,we must return to the care of the "beauty" in the philosophical and cultural system of our nation.Regarding the "beauty" in Chinese culture,Mr.Lao Chengwan believes that it is the aesthetic pleasure of the Chinese people's pursuit of inner morality, that is,the practice of "benevolence and righteousness and wisdom" and the happiness they receive, embodying the personality ideal of "sage and me".To achieve this goal,we must pass the corresponding means of education. Therefore, the study of aesthetic education in Chinese culture must be rooted in the theory and practice of “etiquette and music education”,especially the “music education”—the art education method that embodies the traditional Chinese aesthetic education concept.Based on this, the author chose The Book of Rites and Music(hereinafter referred to as Yue Ji)as the object of studying Chinese traditional aesthetic education theory. It is worth mentioning that the "Yue" discussed in Yue Ji is not just music, but an artistic activity that integrates poetry, music and dance. It is the main way for the pre-Qin rulers to carry out "music education".Yue Ji is based on the discussion of the relationship between rites and music in the pre-Qin dynasties, and the social education practice of the rulers, starting from the aesthetics of "Yue".The systematic interpretation of the relationship between ritual and music marks the maturity of Confucian aesthetic education theory and is the foundation of traditional Chinese aesthetic education. Therefore, the author aims to analyze the uniqueness of his educational goals, aesthetic pathways and practical methods through the study of aesthetic education contained in Yue Ji.further explore the contemporary value of traditional aesthetic education in China, and try to inspire some of the theoretical system of aesthetic education with Chinese characteristics. The research on the aesthetic education of Yue Ji mainly consists of the following three perspectives:The first is the educational goal of the Yue Ji aesthetic education.Yue Ji believes that it is necessary to fully respect the aesthetic needs of people,so that their inner feelings can be reasonably expressed. At the same time, however,it is necessary to control the emotions in order to prevent the human heart from generating a lot of extreme emotions, endangering physical and mental health and social order.Based on the understanding of the moving role of "Yue",Yue Ji proposed to neutralize humanity in the way of art education,so that people's emotions can be rationally adjusted while releasing,in order to meet the requirements of inner morality. In this way, people can enhance their moral cultivation through the "music education" method, make the inner desire and the external norms harmonious and unified, and obtain a kind of free pleasure, thus consciously realizing the shaping of the "gentleman" personality. This is the aesthetic realm of life, and it is also the goal of aesthetic education emphasized in Yue Ji.The second is the aesthetic education approach proposed by the Yue Ji aesthetic education.Yue Ji believes that in the process of aesthetic education, the role of "ritual" and "music" must be complemented. The former emphasizes the norms of external forces such as morality and ethics on human behavior, while the latter emphasizes the reconciliation of art's inner emotional needs. The differences in nature, purpose, and education methods determine their different educational functions.By blending and complementing each other,we can achieve the goal of individual personality shaping and group social education. It can be said that the core concept of Yue Ji aesthetic education is “etiquette and music education”.On this basis,Yue Ji particularly emphasizes the special role of the aesthetic education of "music education" on the influence of the human heart.Through artistic activities, individuals consciously exercise their mind and body, cultivate their temperament, perceive morality, and pursue the ideal of "sacred sages".The rulers can also teach the people to control the emotions of anger and sorrow, balance the good and evil, and then "change the customs".Therefore, its aesthetic education pathway is the "music education" based on the complementary relationship between rites and music. The third is the relationship between aesthetic education and educational practice in Yue Ji.The aesthetic education of Yue Ji is based on the aesthetic education theory summarized by the ruler's practice of ritual and music education. The art forms discussed are closely related to the practice of social politics, and a systematic "music education" method is proposed. Therefore,it can be said that the essence of Yue Ji aesthetic education lies in the metaphysical induction of the specific "ritual and music" practice, which serves as the theoretical guide for later aesthetic education. The aesthetic education method of "learning education" had strong operability at that time, and it also had rich enlightening value in the practice of contemporary aesthetic education in China.Based on the analysis of the above three points and appropriate analysis with Schiller's aesthetic education, this paper summarizes the uniqueness of the aesthetic education thoughts of Yue Ji,which is highlighted in: 1 the common aesthetics of the goals and methods of aesthetic education;2 the important role of external norms in the aesthetic education process;3 close connection with social education practice.Based on the above research, the author attempts to analyze the contemporary value and inspiration of the aesthetic education thoughts of Yue Ji from three different perspectives: the construction of contemporary aesthetic education system in China, the specific educational practice of aesthetic education in the present, and the social function of aesthetic education. From a theoretical point of view,we should fully draw on the idea of "Ritual and Musical Harmony" in Yue Ji aesthetic education, and follow the Chinese people's feelings, experience, and analogy to construct a theoretical system of aesthetic education with Chinese characteristics. From a practical point of view,it should be inspired by the artistic aesthetics of "music education" to form a benign interaction between aesthetic education and moral education, and to build a campus aesthetic culture. From the point of view of social function, the educational function of artistic activities such as "Yue He Tong" and "Toward Neutrality" advocated by Yue Ji aesthetic education is very active in building a socialist harmonious society and inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture. In short,my generation of scholars should absorb the essence of the aesthetic education thoughts of Yue Ji,construct a theoretical system of aesthetic education with Chinese characteristics, enrich the current school education and social education practice in China, and further promote the transformation and development of traditional culture.
