Since the 1980 s,interdisciplinary teaching and research has become an important means of talent cultivation and knowledge production in American research universities.Universities are gradually integrating interdisciplinary talent training into undergraduate teaching work,and regard interdisciplinary talent training as a key component in cultivating high-quality talents.There into,Michigan University is a successful example of implementing undergraduate interdisciplinary talent training in public research universities in the United States.Based on the undergraduate interdisciplinary talent development,The Michigan University integrates interdisciplinary education into university education concept and talent training goal,and supports students to participate in solving complex and diverse social problems by offering proactive interdisciplinary courses and setting up a wide range of interdisciplinary degrees and programs.Meanwhile,Michigan University develops students' ability to collaborate and innovate by adopting the cross-disciplinary teaching methods and the flexible and practical teaching strategies.Moreover,Michigan University has already formed a comprehensive interdisciplinary educational support mechanism through continuous adjustment.This provides students with the convenience of interdisciplinary learning,enhances students' ability to think dialectically,criticize and innovate,and develops students' practical application and development skills.This paper comprehensively uses the comparative research method,case study method and historical research method to systematically analyze all aspects of the undergraduate interdisciplinary talent training of Michigan University.First of all,this paper starts from the perspectives of external environmental changes and the transformation of university concepts,and sorts out the development history of undergraduate interdisciplinary talent training mode at Michigan University,and analyzes the undergraduate interdisciplinary education development.Subsequently,this paper analyzes the undergraduate interdisciplinary talent training objectives,professional curriculum,degree programs,teaching guarantee measures,assessment and evaluation mechanism in detail from Michigan University,Moreover,this paper sums up the successful experience of undergraduate interdisciplinary education in the school,college and professional level from Michigan University,in order to provide reference for China's "double-class" undergraduate teaching reform.
