With the rapid advancement of economic globalization,major issues in contemporary science and technology and economic and social development are highly integrated and complex.To deal with complex issues,complex talents with interdisciplinary knowledge structure are needed.The National University of Singapore,based on social development and the changing demand for talents,reflects on traditional educational concepts and explores an innovative interdisciplinary talent training model.Based on the complexity theory and interdisciplinary theory,this paper systematically summarizes three modes of interdisciplinary talents training around the theme of interdisciplinary talents training for undergraduates of Singapore National University: interdisciplinary professional mode,interdisciplinary course mode and interdisciplinary degree mode.Interdisciplinary professional models include interdisciplinary independent professional model,interdisciplinary professional double main model and interdisciplinary professional main auxiliary model;The interdisciplinary course model is mainly manifested in the interdisciplinary combination and integration of the curriculum system to provide students with a wide range of basic courses covering various fields such as nature,humanities and social sciences.The interdisciplinary degree model mainly discusses the interdisciplinary undergraduate parallel degree and interdisciplinary bachelors-masters of the National University of Singapore.The three modes are independent,complementary and cooperative with each other,which together form the main framework of interdisciplinary talents training of Singapore National University.Everything is a double-edged sword.While summarizing and analyzing the basic mode and experience of interdisciplinary talents training for undergraduate students of Singapore National University,this paper further analyzes the challenges faced by the practice of interdisciplinary talents training mode for undergraduate students of Singapore National University,such as knowledge fragmentation,internal and external logic imbalance,deconstruction crisis of traditional discipline and professional education,bottleneck of interdisciplinary evaluation,etc.Therefore,it puts forward some optimization suggestions,such as integrating knowledge and culture among different disciplines,parallel exogenous logic and endogenous logic in interdisciplinary talent training,simultaneous development of discipline education and interdisciplinary education,and promotion of interdisciplinary training evaluation mechanism,etc.,so as to provide reference for the National University of Singapore and domestic interdisciplinary talent training.
