STEAM curriculum is being carried out in middle and primary schools like a raging fire.The understanding and interpretation of STEAM curriculum theories are the prerequisite for the smooth development of STEAM curriculum,as well as the necessary conditions for how to effectively improve STEAM curriculum to cultivate students' core literacy.STEAM curriculum is diverse and fragmented,and the lack of theoretical guidance makes many teachers feel at a loss for what to do.Even if they start,it is hard to stick to them.Seymour Papert's Constructionism believes that learning takes place most easily when children engaging in making things.This study designed STEAM curriculum from the perspective of Constructionism and combined with curriculum integration thought.The designed curriculum was implemented in Q school of YuHang district of HangZhou for one semester.By means of action research,STEAM curriculum design,evaluation form and schedule were verified and modified.The result is a relatively general STEAM curriculum design framework,curriculum evaluation table and curriculum schedule.The purpose of this study is to design and implement STEAM curriculum with insights from Constructionism theory with its core theoretical thoughts,explore the guiding value of Constructionism to STEAM education,and improve the framework of STEAM curriculum design.The specific content of this study: firstly,the status quo of the development of Constructionism and STEAM education at inland and abroad was analyzed,and the core ideas of Constructionism and features of STEAM curriculum were extracted.Second,design the STEAM curriculum based on Constructionism.Then,the implementation of the design of the curriculum,and the use of action research method for the implementation of the process of three stages of gradual improvement,while optimizing the curriculum design framework.The innovation of this study is to develop STEAM education from a new perspective of Constructionism,and design the curriculum with its core ideas.The proposed curriculum design framework,evaluation toolkits can provide reference for front-line teachers.
