As an essential constituent part of curriculum structure in normal colleges and universities,practical teaching of preschool education major is an important way to cultivate and improve the practical abilities of "preschool teachers-to-be".However,at present,the research on practical teaching system of preschool education,in general,has not reached a high level and there are few descriptive studies on its actual situation in China's academic circles,which is not conducive to the development of local preschool education theories and the guidance to kindergarten practice in China.Therefore,the selected topic of this paper is of great theoretical and practical significance.Through literature research and case study,this paper investigates and analyses the current situation,experience and problems of the practical teaching system of preschool education major in A College,and puts forward some suggestions to optimize the system.Firstly,on the basis of collecting and reviewing literature and policy texts in the method of literature research,this paper constructs an analytical framework of practical teaching system including four dimensions: objective,curriculum,management and evaluation.Secondly,the researcher went to A College twice and consequently collected relatively abundant first-hand information about the practical teaching of preschool education major in A College from the college managers,teachers,students and kindergartens(i.e.employing units)using the specific research methods of interview,observation,questionnaire survey,physical object collection,and so on.Finally,through the analysis and processing of the recorded materials and questionnaire data,the researcher understands and analyzes the actual situation,existing problems and reasons of the practical teaching system of preschool education major in A College in four dimensions: objective,curriculum,management and evaluation,and draws the following conclusions:Around the objective of cultivating students' practical abilities composed of general ability,teaching ability and professional ability,College A has offered a multi-module practical teaching curriculum consisting of professional practical training course,course practice,comprehensive practice and graduation practice,and adopts the management of multi-subject participation inside and outside the college and the evaluation of multi-content,thus forming a well-running practical teaching system with relatively complete elements.A College has not been offering the preschool education major for a long time.However,the college attaches great importance to exploring the characteristics of the construction of practical teaching system,and has accumulated a number of experiences,such as highlight professional skills training of "six skills"(i.e.dance,storytelling,song singing,music performance,painting&handicraft as well as game creation and organization for preschool children)and "handicraft exhibition",carry out the "Comprehensive Practice Week" initiative including Baihe program,volunteer activities,club activities,Wolong Culture and Art Festival,water and energy savingprogram,etc.and adopts a system of multi-tutor supervising inside and outside the college.There are also some problems in the practical teaching system of preschool education major in A College,such as students' unclear understanding of practical teaching objectives,insufficient practicality of curriculum design,weak links in management and unreasonable evaluation system.The causes of these problems come not only from the internal of A College,but also from the external including government,society and practice bases(i.e.kindergartens).In view of the existing problems,this paper puts forward some suggestions to optimize the practical teaching system in College A.Firstly,strengthen publicity and professional awareness training to improve students' understanding of practical teaching objectives.Secondly,optimize the proportion of theoretical teaching and practical teaching,make curriculum design meet social needs,and adopt diversified teaching methods to further increase the practicality of curriculum design.Thirdly,strive for government support,strengthen the cultivation of teaching staff,improve the conditions of practice bases inside the college,and promote the institutionalized cooperation with practice bases outside the college so as to further improve the management mechanism of practical teaching.Finally,increase students' participation and implement the normative and logical evaluation to further improve the effectiveness of evaluation mechanism of practical teaching.
