| In recent years,the academic burden and academic pressure of primary school students have become a hot topic in the society."Reducing the burden on primary school students" has been pushed to the forefront of public opinion by the mass media for many times.Many primary school students,especially senior students,suffer from varying degrees of academic pressure.Studies show that these pressures come from a variety of schoolwork,high expectations from parents,competition from classmates and pressure to enter higher education.It is an indisputable fact that pupils are under increasing academic pressure,but how to relieve pressure for pupils is still a difficult problem faced by the government,schools and academic circles.As primary school students are in the early stage of socialization,their cognitive ability is limited and their self-decompression ability is insufficient.They need the assistance of external forces to relieve their academic pressure.If they fail to correctly understand and face academic pressure,their interpersonal communication and self-identity will be affected,thus affecting their learning and growth.The author reviews the existing literature and finds that many scholars at home and abroad have made relevant interventions and attempts to address the academic pressure of primary school students,but most of the existing studies have adopted psychological counseling and case work,with less application of group work.This paper takes the group work practice in the 4:30 class of institution D in Wuhan city as an example.Under the guidance of social support theory and Lazarus’ stress theory,the paper carries out a series of group activities on academic pressure for eight sixth grade students by comprehensively using the method of social group work.The author first investigated the students’ academic pressure status and needs through participatory observation,interview and scale measurement,and explored their academic pressure sources and stress levels.On this basis,combined with Lazarus’ s stress coping theory,the concept of relieving academic stress was operationalized into cognitive stress,acceptance stress,catharsis stress and control stress,and the group design was divided into four themes according to the theory.The focus of this group is to reduce the academic pressure level of the group members,so as to promote senior primary school students to master the catharsis and control methods of academic pressure,so that the group members can better return to school life.The results show that eight primary school students have improved their cognitive ability and coping ability,and six of them have decreased their academic pressure level significantly,which indicates that the growth group has a significant effect on alleviating the academic pressure of senior primary school students.Although the team worked well,but through reflection,the author also found a lot of shortcomings,such as the service object particularity of the contradiction between interest and professional,to the external influence of academic pressure insufficient attention,and group effect of sustainability is difficult to guarantee,etc.,hope to provide certain reference for the future research in this field. |
