Currently,the domestic macro economy in China is facing a profound adjustment.The hotel industry has gradually entered a stage of profound transformation development.Talents are becoming the core competitiveness of the hotel industry.However,at the same time,the structural contradiction of employment in China is increasingly prominent,and the graduate's employment situation is getting worse.Some experts believe that the gap between college students' employment expectations and the reality has become a key factor that impact the stability of the employment situation of the hotel industry.By taking Shaoxing hotel industry as a case,the paper applied literature approach,quantitative analysis and comparative analysis to examine the gaps between the graduates expectation and the reality.The findings show that the gaps are mainly reflected in the following aspects: the bright future of the hotel industry and the current situation of graduates' employment confusion;the serious inconsistency between the actual monthly salary and the expected monthly salary;the continuous expansion of the benefits and graduate expectations;the helplessness of the future embarrassment and employment,and the employment;the choice of enterprise nature and difficulties in employment coexist;the gap between the employment environment and the actual employment situation.The above gaps are closely related to the hotel environment and the level of industry development,hotel personnel standards,hotel corporate culture,college curriculum,college teachers and graduates adaptability,family backgrounds and so on.The gabs could be narrowed by making efforts in the following aspects: Firstly,in addition to providing basic and necessary material conditions,the hotel industry needs to pay attention to the development opportunities or room for growth of graduates.At the same time,graduates should also be equipped with professional,comprehensive and systematic hotel management knowledge and skills.Secondly,colleges and universities should focus on upgrading the employability of graduates by standardizing the practical teaching system,innovating practical teaching methods,strengthening practical teaching management,and improving the faculty capacity.Graduates should improve their employability by upgrading their professional qualities,skill levels,psychological quality,and job search skills.At the same time,graduates should adjust their own expectations.The findings of the expectation and reality gap of graduates' employment provide the development of the hotel industry,the training of talents in colleges and universities,and the employment of graduates with an important significance.It will not only help to realize the sustainable development of the talent strategy of the hotel industry,but also help to realize the stability of the society.
