Based on the available research into the making of renowned teachers in China, this paper conducts an investigation into the external factors contributing to the success of these teachers, such as the help and guidance they receive, research, incentives and setbacks, family, administrative and teaching duties, regulations from their respective institutions, and so on.This paper also probes into the inner factors for their success, such as their career aspirations, sense of duty, inquisitive spirit, sensitive characters,self-discipline,motivation,and critical thinking. The research collects data through 105 questionnaires handed out to teachers in Fujian-based primary and middle schools.By analyzing data through software such as Logistic and SPSS 19,the research shows that there is a positive connection between a teacherB?TMS learning from their more experienced peers, their opportunities to test various teaching methods, incentives, their financial standings, administrative duties, and so on.The study also reveals that female teachers are more likely to become more successful than their male counterparts, and that help and guidance from more experienced peers is instrumental in a teacherB?TMs growth.112 questionnaires designed according to relevant psychological theories are also handed out,and their feedbacks are analyzed by PROBIT model. An additional 120 teachers are randomly selected for AMS questionnaires. The result shows that inner factors do not contribute significantly to the development of the teachers.By comparing successful teachers and their peers with potential for success, the study finds out that the former does not excel the latter in terms of inner factors and drive for success.Teachers with lower academic rankings also excel their higher-ranking peers in terms of academic curiosity,innovation,observation,love,self-discipline,optimism,and so on.This shows that already-successful teachers tend to withdraw from competition and personal growth once they obtain success in their career.Teachers with potentials for success tend to be more motivated since they still have greater room for development. Finally, the paper offers suggestions on how to better facilitate teacher development.
