High‐quality education depends on a high level of teachers. In recent years, withpeople’s increasing demand for higher quality education, the need for the excellentteachers in various schools is also more urgent. Excellent teachers are the backbone ofthe teachers’ team and thus, play an important role in the improvement of educationquality, the deepening of the education reform, and the comprehensive promotion of theconstruction of teaching resource. As a result, the professional developmentof prominent teachers becomes the concerning research of the academic community.The thesis, by stratified sampling method, studies fifty provincial teaching stars frommiddle schools in five regions of the south, east, north, west and center part in AnHuiprovince. Through questionnaire and interview surveys, the author explores thesuccessful growth of these teaching stars, in an attempt to provide some reference forthe self‐growth of young teachers, to prepare measures for strengthening theconstruction of teachers’ team for school’s management department.The main content of the thesis includes the features of different growing stageswithin these teaching stars, the factors which influence their development, the path totheir success and the related recommendations for the growth of teaching staff.The study shows the characteristics of rapid development among these AnHuiprovincial teaching stars in varying degrees on the growth of the adaptive phase,the competence phase and the maturation phase respectively. They spend less time onthe shift to teachers in the adaptive phase, to qualified teachers in the competence phaseand to excellent teachers in the maturation phase. What’s more, they grow even faster inthe later stage, thus creating a virtuous circle.The growth of the teaching stars is the result of integrated internal and externalinfluence. The internal factor is the motivation to stimulate autonomous developmentmoved by external circumstances. The internal factors are educational concept,professional ethics, professional skills, occupational planning, anti‐pressure ability,professional identity, employment motivation, sense of professional weariness andidleness. On the list of external factors are campus atmosphere, interpersonalrelationship, management system, teaching and researching atmosphere and source ofstress.The growth of teaching stars needs comprehensive experience and tougheningsupported with multi‐strategy. The teachers gradually become mature and grow intoexcellent teaching stars by learning, practicing, teaching reflection and researching. They take various measures to improve themselves, such as specialized reading, senior leading,peer coaching, learning by teaching, training and further studying, job training, teachingcompetition, self‐reflecting, lesson studying and subject researching.Based on these experience and exploration, the thesis believes that in order tobecome an excellent middle school teacher, one should abide by the principles as follows:holding a firm faith in teaching career, making a proper occupational planning, takingmorality as the foundation, and perceiving teaching ideology as top priority. Teachersshould be skilled at learning and willing to cooperate with others. Besides, they arerequired to reflect themselves more often, deepen teaching researches and strengthenindependency on professional development. On the other hand, schools, as a teachingtraining base, are requested to upgrade school concept, promote culture construction,improve and perfect training mechanism, and exchange competitions, to provide thegrowth of teachers with more support and better development.
