The National Medium-and Long-term Education Reforms and the Development Outline(2010-2020)points out: "Education based on teachers,and good education can not be achieved without good teachers”.The Report of the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized: "the policy of giving priority to the development of education is to strengthen the construction of teachers,especially put the less developed areas of the western regions as a key,and to steadily and orderly improve the overall quality of teachers who are in remote and poor areas by steadily and orderly." Physical education teachers are the implementer for school physical education,which plays a very important role in the cultivation of students' good exercise habits and the formation of lifelong sports consciousness.From the perspective of human resources,school physical education in poor areas is facing problems that teachers are short supply and introduce them difficultly.Based on the reality,it is a long-term measure to improve the education level and ability of the existing physical education teachers.Based on this,the research has taken some physical education teachers who come from 14 rural junior middle school physical education teachers in Zhengning county as the investigation object,adopts the literature data method,the mathematical statistics method,the expert interview method,and so on.This paper studies the problems existing in the professional development of PE teachers in rural middle schools in Zhengning County by means of questionnaire survey,and focuses on analyzing dilemmas,causes and ways for improving the professional development of PE teachers to promote the effective development of physical education in local schools.It provides effective material for PE teachers' professional development theory.The results show that:1.The gender structure of junior middle school physical education teachers in Zhengning county is unbalanced.77.78 % 0f PE teachers are male,and there are only22.22%of them are female,the number of male PE teachers are more than female.The number of teachers with undergraduate education are 22,accounting for 81.48%of the total.There are 2 teachers with bachelor's degree or above,accounted for 7.4%of the total number of people whom were surveyed,and there are 3 physical education teachers in rural junior high school with college qualifications.It accounted for11.11% of the total number surveyed.2.The difficulties of physical education teachers' professional development in Zhengning County are as follows: the identification degree about professional of physical education teachers is not high,the sense of belonging and accomplishment,the lack of teachers' professional development planning,and the lack of development motivation;Career ideal and reality gap,lack of learning resources,lack of learning motivation.3.The reasons for the dilemmas in the professional development of PE teachers in Zhengning County are as follows:For these PE teachers,the respect is lower than who are in other disciplines,the lack of opportunities for continuing education and training makes it difficult to improve the ability of scientific research and teaching reform;The lack of facilities limits the ability of teachers to organize.According to the dilemmas and reasons of the professional development of PE teachers in Zhengning County,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:1.Establish a scientific and reasonable evaluation mechanism for teachers' professional development2.Improve the rural PE Teachers' wages and benefits3.Set up a personal career development planning system4.Strengthen training opportunities to promote the growth of physical education teachers;5.Actively implement funds of school sports.
