Research On The Urban-rural Differences In The Employability Of College Students In China

Paying attention to the cultivation of College Students' employability is an important way to solve the problem of College Students'employment.It is required for college students to develop,as well as the necessary for the reform and development of higher education.This study takes the USEM model of employability as a guide and deeply analyzes the differences of college students'employability from the perspective of urban and rural areas.Based on the survey data of NCSS database in 2017,this study attempts to discuss the current situation and factors affecting of the employability of college students from different backgrounds in China,providing useful reference for college students from different backgrounds to improve their employability.Following are the major conclusions of this study:First,the current situation of employability of urban college students is positive.And the current situation of rural college students is similar to the urban college students,but the mean value of all dimensions is lower than that.Second,the college students'employability of urban and rural students is similar in gender,types of college and subject,but it is different in family economic situation,parents'education level and grade.Third,the practice plays a great part in urban and rural college students'employability.The employability of urban college students with low family income is lower than the high family income.The employability of the urban students whose mothers have accepted higher education is higher.The self-evaluation score of employability of senior students is the highest,and the employability of rural college students is lowest in the sophomore.Some suggestions are given as assumed by the finding of this study.Firstly,colleges should pay more attention to the education of employability in the process of personnel training.Secondly,colleges should establish a mechanism for the different characteristic groups.Guiding college students with different characteristics to clarify their weaknesses and strengths.Thirdly,colleges should strengthen internship and construct a bridge connecting them with the labor market.
