Analysis On Occupational Mobility And Its Effects On Wage Incomes Among The New Generation Migrant Workers In Suzhou

With the increase of the number of new generation migrant workers,the occupational mobility characteristics of high flow and horizontal flow among them are focused by a lot of researchers,so what influence the new generation migrant workers to occupational mobility,and whether occupational mobility can really to promote the wage growth?To solve these problems,this article using the survey data about new generation migrant workers in Suzhou in 2015 to do the study,and using the ordered logistic regression model and multiple logistic regression model to explore the frequency in occupational mobility and the motivation on occupational mobility,at the same time,using the quantile regression model to analyzes the impact that occupation mobility of new generation migrant workers on the wage.The results show that,in order to improve the non-economic work conditions,achieve personal career development and the income growth,the new generation migrant workers conducted frequently occupational mobility,which the characteristics of occupational mobility are high flow and unstable.Besides,the frequency of occupational mobility and wage incomes among the new generation migrant workers are difference in sex,marriage,age.In addition,the human capital of education and working year,also the social capital of the searching job way,migration patterns among the new generation migrant workers have negative effect on the frequency of occupational mobility.The new generation migrant workers who have received higher education and have rich experience tend to conduct the occupational mobility for their career development;Also,the new generation migrant workers who master a certain skill or in a certain management level are more likely to conduct the occupational mobility for a better working conditions,personal career development and a higher wage income.Moreover,compared with the male,the female are more favored to occur occupational mobility for taking care of their family.Similarly,in terms of wage income,for low-income new generation migrant workers,the frequent occupational mobility has a negative effect on their wage incomes.In contrast,the occupation types have a significant impact on wage incomes,the new generation of migrant workers who master a certain professional skills,or in a certain management positions has an advantage in getting a high level of wage incomes.Furthermore,the factor that enterprises providing the endowment insurance for new generation migrant workers help contribute to increasing their wage incomes.In order to improve the new generation migrant workers' human capital,reduce the frequency of occupational mobility and increase their wage incomes,this article puts forward relevant suggestions,such as strengthen the support for rural areas in higher education,promote the migrant workers'vocational skills training,and improve the non-economic work conditions.Through these measures,we can build a good economic foundation for the new generation migrant workers to realize the city integration.
