Physical Education entrance exam has got some achievements since it was put into effect,but simultaneous has brought a series of problems.This paper aims to help find the problems of PE lessons in junior middle school and tries to give some suggestions on the reform of PE entrance exam for senior high school in Zhenjiang.It investigated the PE teachers and students in six junior middle schools in Zhenjiang,surveyed their attitudes towards the PE entrance exam for senior high school,and analyzed the teaching contents,methods,evaluations and students' training motivations.This paper found the existing problems and reasons of PE entrance exam for senior high school,and put forwards corresponding solutions.This paper employed the methods of documentary analysis,logical analysis,investigation,interview,and statistics.To know the current PE lessons in middle school,the author investigated the teachers,students,and managers in the six junior middle schools in Zhenjiang,namely Zhenjiang Foreign Language School,Third Middle School,Fourth Middle School,Six Middle School,Middle School Afiliated To Zhenjiang University Of Science And Technology,and Jiangnan Middle School,and also analyzed the teaching purposes,contents,methods,and evaluations of PE lessons,and made a further analysis of the influences of PE entrance exam for senior high school on PE lessons in middle schools.After analysis,this paper found that the tests on some programmes in PE entrance exam are reasonable,but there are still some problems.Because of the difficulty of several programmes,and the limitation of space and equipments,which will impede the development of students' interests and personality.Because of the criterion differences,students' physical quality can not be accurately tested,which exerts a great impact on the teaching purposes and results in the overemphasis on training students' physical quality.The overweight on the programmes in the PE entrance exam will lead PE lessons to test-oriented education.PE lessons will lose its fun and the students will reduce their passion for activities on account of the simplicity or the repeat of teaching methods.Due to the emphasis on the skill assessment and the summative assessment,students'differences and their development of athletic abilities will be ignored.As PE entrance exam can facilitate the improvements of teaching environment,schools should invest more capital in PE lessons,expand practising space,and add and update equipments.However,as a matter of fact,these inputs are limited.When preparing the exam,students will practise more carefully than usual.
