Study On Dilemmas And Countermeasures Of College Counselors' Professional Ethics

The college counselor system in China has a history of more than 60 years since its birth.As an important part of the teacher team,the counselor's career development is continuously influenced by the professionalization of teachers.In the new period of social development,the division of duties in the internal teaching and management of university systems is gradually refined,in addition,the pluralistic values of modern society tend to cause the volatility of young college students' thought and the diversification of value orientation,and the new requirements of career development and the educational mission of the new era have pushed the relevant research of college counselors' careers to the forefront of academics.In professional activities,counselors act as educators and administrators are often faced with some problems like to make choices on some ethical guidelines or obligations,and counselors can only choose one.which can easily fall into ethical dilemmas.Exploring the ethical dilemma in career development is not only the practical need for counselors to alleviate moral pressure,but also the research appeal of counselors as a specific occupational group in the field of applied ethics.In summary,this article starts from the perspective of ethics,taking the professional group of college counselors as the starting point,the ethical dilemma faced by the group is taken as the research object,and the composition of professional ethics of college counselors and the specific connotation of ethical dilemma are sorted out.It is found that the professional ethics dilemma of college counselors is mainly manifested as role conflict,norm conflict and interest conflict,specifically,including role conflicts caused by role function overlays and "dual relationships".The Conflict of Norms Caused by "Moral Aliens" and the right to secret and privacy,and conflicts of interest arising from limited resource allocation and limited career development.The deep reasons for the professional ethics dilemma of college counselors in China mainly include two aspects.On the one hand,it is the internal reason from the counselor's own,that is,the professional knowledge and professional content are misplaced,and the complex professional relationship creates conflicts of value orientation;On the other hand,there are also external factors from the career development level of counselors,which are manifested in the inconsistency of vocational evaluation standards and the imperfection of vocational education system.Through the analysis of the current ethical dilemma and its causes,I believethat the strategy to solve the ethical dilemma should from three aspects:from the perspective of the counselors themselves,it is necessary to improve the professional ethics of the counselor team;from the perspective of the improvement of ethical norms,it is necessary to optimize the internal norms of counselors' professional ethics;from the perspective of institutional constraints,the early-warning and evaluation mechanism of counselors' professional ethics should be established.This article puts forward some unique insights into the systematic discussion on the professional ethics dilemma,causes and strategies of counselors.While enriching theoretical research,it is expected to promote the practical exploration of the counselor's career in the process of specialization,and then guide the counselors to achieve their professional vision,and through noble professional moral feelings to complete the fundamental tasks and mission of cultivating people by virtue.
