A Comparative Study Of The Reporting Framework Of People's Daily Online And The Asahi Shimbun Network Pyeongchang Winter Olympics

The success of Beijing and Zhangjiakou's joint bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics has aroused great attention from the Chinese government and attracted more attention to the ice and snow project.To a large extent,the performance of Chinese delegation at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and the coverage on the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics will affect the audience's attitude and understanding of the Winter Olympics.The construction of the media coverage framework can reveal the position of the media and guide the audience.Therefore,the study of typical Internet media is of great significance to the coverage of the Winter Olympics.The differences in the way different people think differently make people's perceptions of external things show different tendencies.China's Internet news management concept is different from Japan's "free of control".The contradiction between the Chinese government's control over the Internet and the principle of free flow of information has been evident in the reports of the official media.The difference in Internet news issues involves not only the national political system,but also the cultural concept of society.By adopting the methods of literature review,this paper conducts a research on1106 sports news reports from People's Daily Online and Asahi Shimbun Online during the Pyeonghang Winter Olympics.This paper then draws a contrast between the two media reporting frameworks and several features of the coverage of the Winter Olympic Games in China were concluded as follows: the coverage of People's Daily Online focuses on the concept of "gold medal first",while the coverage of Asahi Shimbun Online centers on humanistic care;the news reports cover the events with competitive advantage,and imbalance on coverage exists;the new media environment stimulates the innovation of the reporting form of People's Daily Online,with text plus two-dimensional code,while Asahi Shimbun adopts the traditional reporting form: text plus picture;different training mechanisms of the athletes make the reporting perspective different and result in insufficient coverage from local perspectives in China.China should not cling to the thinking of “gold medal first”,and pay more attention to humanistic care;China need to promote the ice-snow sports,and work to the popularization of the events without competitive advantage;China needs to lay emphasis on the sports news reports from local perspectives and reduce the homogenization of sports reports.
