Professional knowledge and skills of head teachers in secondary vocational schools have a direct impact on the overall development of secondary vocational students and the development of secondary vocational schools.In this study,the competence of head teachers in ten secondary vocational schools in Changsha and Zhuzhou was investigated by interview and questionnaire.This thesis analyzes the corresponding competency characteristics of class teachers with high competency level,and puts forward feasible suggestions,which has a strong guiding significance and practical application value for secondary vocational school teaching.The main research contents of this paper are as follows: Firstly,the author interviews the middle and senior managers,excellent class teachers and teachers of Changsha Information Vocational and Technical School,in order to obtain the most frequent competency behavior characteristics of class teachers.Then,taking these characteristics as the factors of the final questionnaire and combining with the competency iceberg model,200 class teachers from 10 secondary vocational schools in Changsha,Zhuzhou,Shaoyang and Huaihua were investigated from 11 factors,such as organizational management ability,adaptability,team building,personnel training,care and respect,and trust building.A competency survey was conducted to analyze the differences in the competency level of head teachers in different gender,age,educational background and professional titles.Through the investigation and Study on the competence of class teachers in secondary vocational schools,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)there is no significant difference in the competence level of class teachers in secondary vocational schools between men and women in terms of gender,age and first degree;(2)on the factors of "care and respect",the score of class teachers with final academic qualifications is significantly lower than that with final academic qualifications.Bachelor's degree and master's degree and above class teacher;(3)In the "teaching organization and management ability",the senior title of class teacher scored significantly higher than the junior title and intermediate title of class teacher.In view of the research results,this paper puts forward optimization strategies to strengthen the competence of class teachers in secondary vocational schools from five aspects: correcting the attitude towards the position of class teachers,strengthening communication and cooperation,perfecting the evaluation system,stimulating the initiative of class teachers and mobilizing their learning,and puts forward safeguard measures from two aspects of school leadership and class teachers themselves.
