| While bringing about economic globalization and various social changes,knowledge economy has also brought about more intense competition in fields like politics,economy,culture,military affairs and education all over the world.It has put forward more urgent demands for talents,especially international talents,which puts forward higher requirements for the cultivation of talents in higher education.As we all know,the key period for cultivating talents is in the higher education stage and undergraduate education occupied the basic position of higher education,which is particularly important.In 2018,the Ministry of Education held the National Conference on Undergraduate Education in New Era and issued “40 Principles of Higher Education in New Era”,which highlighted the basic position of undergraduate education.Education for nationalities,as one of the components of higher education,is to cultivate talents and it is particularly important to train specialized talents of minorities.It is one of the higher education missions that universities for nationalities undertake to train undergraduates with international quality to better serve minorities and minority areas.The current internationalization cultivation mode of universities for nationalities generally follows the research-oriented university's.This kind of cultivation mode is not completely applicable to universities for nationalities and has little effect.Based on this,this thesis proposes the implementation of “Internationalization at home” cultivation strategies in universities for nationalities to improve student's international quality.As an integral part of the internationalization of higher education talents training,“Internationalization at home” has shifted the focus of internationalization development to local students who have not done transnational learning,which has eased the learning needs of undergraduate families in universities for nationalities to a certain extent.Internationalization in local campuses relatively relives the language learning pressure that undergraduates face through transnational learning.It also helps to enhance the cultural confidence of ethnic students.This strategy promotes the internationalization of students through local teachers by teaching international frontier knowledge and concepts in curriculum teaching.Compared with foreign teachers,local teachers understand local students better,which will remind local teachers to supplement relevant content in class.Through specialized teaching and learning activities between teachers and students in universities,it helps students better understand cultural differences and enhances cross-cultural understanding for better achieving the effect of multicultural communication in classroom teaching.“Internationalization at home” mainly involves three elements which are “organization”,“curriculum” and “people”.The organization is the organization that implements the “Internationalization at home” strategy.It outlines the blueprint for the implementation of the strategy,points out the direction for the implementation of the strategy,guides the improvement of the external environment for the implementation of the strategy,supervises and manages the implementation of the strategy in all directions and finally evaluates its implementation effect.Curriculum is the core element of the “Internationalization at home” strategy.It is the main component of training content in talent training.It is the bridge of “organization” and “people”.The organization conveys the international development concept through the curriculum reform design.Teachers expand and disseminate the concept of internationalization development through participation and practice of curriculum reform.Through curriculum learning,students learn to accept international knowledge,acquire international ability,develop international consciousness and ultimately improve their international quality completely.While people are the operation terminal of the entire local internationalization strategy,which requires the teachers,administrators and students in the organization to work together.This thesis,mainly starting from the cultivation of undergraduate talents in universities for nationalities,analyzes the actual problems that international cultivation mode has,which existing in universities for nationalities based on the specific requirements of economic and society for international talents.While learning from some practices of foreign universities,we try to carry out the cultivating strategy of “Internationalization at home” to provide practical basis for the training of internationalized talents in universities for nationalities.The topic of this paper has a certain frontier and feasibility.By mainly using the literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and case analysis method to conduct a new attempt to explore the international cultivation of undergraduate students in universities for nationalities in China.This thesis summarizes the relevant research at home and abroad on the internationalization of higher education,the development of student's internationalization and the internationalization at home.Based on the previous studies and used talent cultivation mode as the theoretical basis,it investigates the Z university for nationalities,one of the six universities directly affiliated to the “State Ethnic Affairs Commission ”,and found that there are many factors restricting the existing method that improve the international cultivation of students through transnational learning.So it is difficult for undergraduates of universities for nationalities to effectively improve their international quality.Combining with the previous studies,Z university for nationalities also has a certain understanding of the existing problems in the process of international cultivation.It tries to explore the international cultivation strategies that are suitable for universities for nationalities.It organize and optimize management,strengthen teachers,improve curriculum system and utilize international resources on campus to build an international environment in the local campus and to create a “Internationalization at home” cultivating strategy by “own efforts,use force from external environment,use force from external intelligence”,so that undergraduates who can not afford transnational learning can improve their internationalization quality through the international environment and international training within the campus.In this way,it not only injects new vitality into the campus but also receives recognition from the students.It is hoped that the practice experience of “Internationalization at home” of Z university for nationalities will be promoted and more universities for nationalities will devote themselves to find an internationalized talent cultivation mode that suitable for the characteristics of their own through innovation ideas,strengthening teachers,building curriculum system and platforms to achieve the improvement of student's knowledge,ability and consciousness in all aspects.Under the trend of internationalization of higher education,this thesis aimed to promote universities for nationalities to evaluate their own development on a border platform,stimulate their initiative in internationalization and formulate strategies for international development adapting to the characteristics of colleges and universities.So as to cultivate more minority specialists to better adapt to economic and social development in order to enhance the economy of ethnic areas. |
