The development of robotics and the enormous social influence have made many countries aware of the importance and urgency of developing robotics. In recent years, with the continuous implementation of the new curriculum reform of the national basic education,China's middle school robot education has developed rapidly, and its educational value has gradually been recognized by the society. In terms of teaching methods, the current robot teaching in junior middle schools in China mainly adopts the traditional teaching method, which can not meet the needs of robot teaching to cultivate students' problem solving ability and cooperative spirit.Project-based learning(PBL),as a new teaching mode with group learning and project completion as its main form, has achieved remarkable results in the teaching of medicine and physics, but it lacks the application in middle school robotics teaching.Based on this, the main purpose of this paper is to explore the application of project-based learning in middle school robot teaching, and explore the feasibility of project-based learning applied to robot teaching and its impact on students' learning. This study mainly uses literature analysis method, interview method, questionnaire survey method, experimental method, observation method and statistical analysis method to verify the applicability of project-based learning(PBL)model for middle school robot teaching.Taking the first-year junior high school students as the research object,a three-month teaching practice was carried out.The teaching implementation is based on the Lego third generation robot EV3 as teaching aids and with its own programming software.Through the analysis of the characteristics, principles and objectives of the robot teaching course, the PBL teaching mode is finally constructed according to six steps: project selection, plan formulation, activity exploration, work production, results display and project evaluation. Before and after the teaching practice, students were asked to fill in the knowledge, ability and emotion three-dimensional evaluation questionnaire, and the students' work was scored, and the data collected by pre-test and post-test were analyzed to judge the three-dimensionality of knowledge, ability and emotion. In addition, interviews were conducted to interview teachers participating in the course to further verify the feasibility of the PBL-based middle school robot teaching model.Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews with teachers, this study finds that project-based learning can significantly improve students' knowledge mastery and problem-solving ability in middle school robotics teaching, cultivate students' teamwork spirit, and improve the overall teaching effect. Finally, this study, combined with the enlightenment gained in the process of teaching practice, puts forward some referential suggestions for teachers to carry out PBL teaching mode.
