With the increasing pace of globalization,the key for China to improve its future international competitiveness lies in the innovation of science and technology and the improvement of its national scientific literacy,biological science literacy as one of the components,the importance is self-evident.In order to improve the scientific literacy of primary and middle school students,China has successively issued relevant policy documents and measures,including popular science base of the construction and development has also been particularly valued.At the same time,students' learning methods and approaches also change with the change of the times,so it is new and worth exploring to develop the science education activities to supplement the school's science education and cultivate the students' biological science literacy.This paper first uses the literature analysis method to read and sort out the relevant literature at home and abroad,define the concept of science popularization base and biological science literacy,establish the theoretical basis and summarize the domestic and foreign popular science education activity research status.Secondly,a questionnaire survey was conducted among the students in grade 4 and 6 of a primary school,from the biological science knowledge,ability,attitudes and values emotional three dimensions to understand students' biological science literacy,and through the statistical description analysis: the students' level of knowledge in biological sciences varies,the level of biological operation ability is generally low,although to popular science base and popular science activity understanding is little but interest is high and the biological science information access channel gradually diversification and so on.Then combined with the first half of 2019 henan University life science practical education base held activities,put forward the design strategy of popular science activities in accordance with the relevant design strategies: first,students as the main body,improve the participation of popular science activities,and strive to achieve better popular science effect;second,design the cooperative activity content oriented by the question,make the activity goal clear and the evaluation has the standard relatively;third,the content should be connected with the school education,and the curriculum standards should be highlighted.Finally,according to relevant design strategies,the teaching activities are designed and implemented in thetwo links of the science popularization activities: the mystery of life in the biological world and the world under the microscope of fantastic stories,and through the second questionnaire survey and field activities to analyze the implementation effect.The following main conclusions can be drawn from the above research: first,give full play to the characteristics and advantages of the science base to carry out science popularization activities,which will help to improve students' interest in learning,cultivate their hands-on ability such as experimental operation,and improve their biological science literacy;second,the science base platform is used to realize the connection with the school education content,and the existing conditions of the base are utilized to integrate the science curriculum content,which not only broadens the students' vision but also makes up for the deficiencies of the school curriculum,under the guidance of curriculum standards,students are encouraged to study independently based on inquiry;third,it is helpful to make use of the science popularization base to promote the coordinated development of science and education,formulate the education mechanism strategy,refine the education plan,expand the education path,and contribute to the development of students' scientific literacy from multiple channels and perspectives.However,there are still some shortcomings in this study.The survey data may be influenced by the uniform teaching situation in the school due to the narrow selection range of the survey objects;there are few researches on the biological science base,and there are few ideas for reference,the author's teaching experience is not enough to fully grasp the design and implementation process of activity teaching;at the same time,the implementation activities of this study are few,and the students' biological science literacy needs periodic and purposeful science popularization practice activities to nourish them.Therefore,how to make use of the advantages of popular science base to design and implement teaching activities is a problem that we still need to continue to explore.
