Picture books the perfect combination of language and pictures are not only a tool for expressing emotions by combining illustrations and words but also an indispensable part of Chinese teaching resources.Writing teaching in lower grades has great effects on primary Chinese teaching,and meanwhile it will lay a solid foundation for the writing of elementary and middle school grades,and even the writing in junior and senior high schools.In view of the characteristics of body-mind development of low-grade students,picture books are of great value to stimulate students' interests in writing and develop students' association and imagination.If the Chinese teachers in the first semester can take picture books as an effective teaching resource,and flexibly apply them to all aspects of writing teaching,the writing ability of lower grades students will be greatly enhanced.This thesis centered on the application of picture books in the writing teaching for low-grade students in elementary school.The content is divided into four chapters.With a combination of theory and practice,the introduction mainly discusses the origin and significance of the research,summarizes relevant research at home and abroad,and clarifies research goals and methods,research content and innovation points.The first chapter aims to give an overview of picture books and writing teaching.It primarily includes the definition of the related concepts of picture books and writing teaching,the characteristics of picture books,the requirements of writing teaching in junior grades,and the value of picture books in writing teaching.The second chapter focuses on analyzing the current situation and attributions of the use of picture books in the writing of lower grades in elementary schools.Taking the lower grades teachers and students from three primary schools in Yichang as the survey object,this thesis employs the questionnaire survey method to carry out this survey and research.Based on the surveyed phenomena and circumstances,the reasons for the current application of picture books in the writing of lower grades in elementary schools are analyzed.There emerge many problems for teachers using picture books to teach writing,and they are mainly:teachers lack relevant teaching concepts and improper use of picture books in teaching writing;teachers' are short of ability to use pictures to teach writing and their undesirable teaching effects;teachers' lack of self-reflection consciousness and their poor improvements.The students would encounter some difficulties in learning picture writing through picture books.Firstly,the students prefer using picture books in learning picture writing,but their relevant knowledge of picture books is inadequate.Second,there lie great differences between students' picture reading ability and understanding ability.In addition,as the method of using picture books to learn writing isn't diversified,there is still much room for boosting learning effect.As for teachers' problems in writing teaching through picture books,three main reasons are summarized,insufficient relevant teaching concepts,namely inadequate professional competence of the teachers,and their imperfect self-reflection and improvements.When it comes to students,the reasons for their problems in learning writing in picture books are as follows.On the one hand,the students have a poor reading consciousness of picture books,and weak ability of reading pictures.On the other hand,they are limited by their cognitive ability.The third chapter mainly puts forwards constructive suggestions and strategies from the view of teachers and students after analyzing the problems and causes of picture books in the writing teaching of lower primary schools.For teachers,they should establish the teaching concept of teaching writing with the aid of picture books,develop and employ the resources of picture books,consciously improve their professional quality,and improve classroom teaching effect.Moreover,they should value teaching evaluation and reflection,thus enhancing teaching strategies in a timely manner.As for students,they should use picture books reasonably to cultivate their awareness of reading picture books;be apt at using picture books to improve their ability to read pictures independently;employ various methods to help understand the contents of picture books.This thesis focuses on the application research of picture books in writing teaching in lower grades.By means of analyzing and summarizing a series of problems in the teaching and learning of picture books for writing teaching,and the causes through investigation and research,it attempts to propose some strategies to improve teaching and learning of picture books,so that teachers can flexibly use picture books in the future writing teaching and learning.It is expected that picture books can play a unique role in writing teaching and learning and become the stepping stones for developing students' writing ability.Furthermore,picture books possibly turn into the highlight in the writing classes,better promoting the reform and progress of writing teaching in lower grades.
