With the continuous intercourse between China and Thailand in politics,economy and culture,the popularization and promotion of Chinese in Thailand has also been strongly supported by the Thai royal family and government.Chinese Teaching has been integrated into the education system of Thailand and has been widely concerned by public.Chinese language course has been formally included in syllabus of basic education in Thailand although,there are still many teaching problems in middle schools.The author was lucky to pass the test of NOCFL in 2018,and went to Thailand as a volunteer Chinese teacher in Phayao Qingkang middle school for one year.During the teaching period,the author found problems with slow-growth of Chinese language teaching in the middle schools in the north of Thailand.By referring to relevant literature,it can be seen that scholars' research on Chinese Teaching in middle schools is limited in the region.Therefore,the author selected 9public middle schools with Chinese language teacher volunteers as the research object,and conducted a questionnaire survey on Chinese language volunteer teachers,local Chinese teachers and Chinese learners in Qingkang middle school.Based on the results of the investigation,this paper summarizes the existing problems in Chinese Teaching in Phayao middle school.Combined the practical teaching experience and the relevant theories in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the appropriate solutions is proposed.In the introduction chapter,it concludes reason of the research,research purpose and significance,research methods,theory support and innovations.The research achievements about the present situation of Chinese Teaching in Thailand middle school and the present situation are analyzed and summarized.This chapter introduces the research ideas and methods through document review.The main content of this paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the education system of Thailand and the relevant policies of Chinese Teaching in Thai middle schools.This chapter briefly introduces the education system of Thailand,and expounds the relevant policies that have a certain impact on the development of Chinese Teaching in Thai middle schools.The purpose of this chapter is to pave the way for the later analysis of the existing problems in Chinese Teaching in Phayao middle school.The second chapter is the questionnaire survey of Chinese Teaching in Thailand Phayao middle school,which is the research basis of this paper.This chapter firstly explains the questionnaire used in this paper,and then analyzes the brief situation of Chinese Teaching,Chinese teachers,Chinese learningof students,the use of textbooks,classroom teaching and classroom management of the nine middle schools which were investigated by author,and then shows the current situation of Chinese Teaching in Phayao middle school.The third chapter is the problems existing in Chinese Teaching of Thailand Phayao middle school,which is the key part of this paper.Based on the analysis of the current situation of Chinese Teaching of Phayao middle school in the former,the author points out the main problems in the school,such as insufficient attention to Chinese Teaching,inadequate assessment and management of Chinese Volunteer Teachers',and unreasonable setting of Chinese class hours,etc.;in terms of teachers,there are main problems such as lack of teaching experience and language barriers about Chinese volunteer teachers,high mobility of Chinese volunteer teachers and unsatisfactory handover of teaching tasks,the shortage of professional local Chinese teachers,and the rigid teaching methods of local Chinese teachers.As for students,the main problems are weak Chinese learning motivation and low participation in Chinese proficiency related exams.In terms of textbooks,unreasonable selection of textbook and the reuse of the same teaching materials in different grades are the major problems.The fourth chapter combines the author's own teaching experience,and based on the theories and hypotheses of Second Language Acquisition and the relevant theories of second language teaching methods,puts forward the corresponding strategies for the existing problems of schools,Chinese teachers,students and textbooks.For example,based on the teaching experience,the author proposed that all middle schools in Phayao should apply to Confucius institutes to establish HSK test sites in Phayao,Chinese teachers in China and Thailand should attempt to Cooperative Teaching.The strategies like actively fostering the relationship between teachers and students is proposed based on affective filtering hypothesis in second language acquisition theory and hypothesis.And the school should organize more students to participate in various Chinese cultural activities and competitions based on the acculturation hypothesis.Finally,in the conclusion,the author summarizes the whole paper and expounds the shortcomings of this research.Based on the analysis of the current situation of Chinese language teaching in Phayao middle school,this paper summarizes the problems of Chinese language teaching in schools,teachers,students and teaching materials in Phayao middle school and puts forward the corresponding solutions,so as to accelerate well development of Chinese language teaching in this area.
