In our country's fully generalized quality education and new-curriculum reform process,with reasons that the abstraction and logic features of junior school mathematics,the overcrowding classrooms in school and students' inappropriate learning methods,in junior school period of compulsory education,there are more and more underarchiever in mathematics.The mathematics is an important subject in basic education,it has more importance in modern work and life,the difficulty in learning math may limit parts students' development.So the analysis and exploration of underarchiever in mathematics gradually became a main research subject for basic educators.But because of the large number of underarchiever in mathematics,their weak learning foundation,negative learning initiative and limited interest,as well as the fact that they are easy to be influenced by many factors,the help and change to the underarchiever in mathematics is easy to back to the beginning,with little effect.Based on non-intellectual factor theory,metacognition theory,attribution theory and constructivism theory,through the questionnaire survey for 685 grade three junior students in the Baiyin No.10 Middle School,and the talk with parents and math teachers on the front,this paper explored the reasons caused the underarchiever in mathematics in junior school.They were as follows:lack of learning attitude,motivation and interest,inappropriate learning methods,improper attribution of performance in mathematics,weak learning foundation,poor knowledge transfer ability,limited attention from teacher and other social and family reasons.The correspondingly transformation strategies were putted forward in this paper aiming at related problems.Finally verified the transformation strategies by two actual cases.These paper was divided into there parts:First introduced the background,meaning and purpose of the research,the domestic and foreign research status,ideas and methods for research,and the definition of students with learning difficulties.Then with the questionnaire survey,talk to teachers and parents,analyzed the influence from students,family,school and society to the formation of students with learning difficulties,drew a conclusion that the reasons caused the formation of the underarchiever in mathematics were multiple and complicated.And finally through the analysis and research for two typical cases,implemented the practical transformation program,and obtained good transformation results.
