Research On The Influence Of Local Higher Education Resources On The Upgrading Of Urban Industrial Structure

Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has made remarkable achievements in the world.However,China's economy has entered a new normal period of high-quality development.The problem of industrial structure under the long-term extensive development mode has become an important obstacle to economic development.The development of education is an important path to promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Especially in the context of the new normal of economic development,China's economic growth is slowing down and the upgrading of industrial structure is facing difficulties.Starting from this realistic background,this paper attempts to explain the upgrading of urban industrial structure from the perspective of local higher education resources.This paper takes the impact of local higher education resources on the upgrading of urban industrial structure as the research topic,and USES the panel data of 286 prefecture-level cities in China from 2007 to 2017 to carry out the research.Before the empirical analysis,this paper firstly sorts out the background,significance and related literature research results of this paper,and then defines and reviews the core concepts and basic theories involved in this paper.Based on the analysis of the influence mechanism of local higher education resources and the upgrading of urban industrial structure,this paper puts forward the research hypothesis and constructs the empirical model.The data source and variable selection are explained.On this basis,the empirical analysis is carried out in the fourth chapter,and the results show that:first,local higher education resources have a significant positive impact on the upgrading of urban industrial structure.In terms of regions,local higher education resources in the east,central and west have a promoting effect on the upgrading of urban industrial structure,but the positive effect on the western region is not significant,while local higher education resources in the northeast have an inhibiting effect on the upgrading of urban industrial structure.Second,in terms of control variables,the upgrading of industrial structure is affected by the level of local economic development,the degree of government intervention,and investment in fixed assets.Third,on the premise of the heterogeneity of urban business level,local higher education resources play a role of"providing timely assistance" for the upgrading of industrial structure of second-tier and lower-tier cities,while they play a role of "icing on the cake" for first-tier and new-tier cities On the basis of the results of empirical analysis,according to the reality of our country,this paper puts forward targeted policy Suggestions,hoping to make scientific higher education development policies and industrial policies for the current Chinese government through this study,so as to improve the situation of overcapacity and unreasonable industrial structure in our country.Specific policy recommendations include:vigorously develop education,adjust and optimize the education structure according to the local economic structure and development needs;Reasonable allocation of regional resources,scientific use of local higher education resources,promote the upgrading of urban industrial structure;For cities with different business levels,policies conducive to the upgrading of urban industrial structure should be formulated according to local conditions.Finally,in view of the shortcomings in this paper,the future research is proposed.
