The Singapore history syllabus in early 2013 reveals the requirements and expectations of the education authorities for history education in Singapore in recent years.The syllabus believes that junior high school history education,on the one hand,is to cultivate students' understanding of historical concepts,on the other hand,it is also to cultivate students' application of historical skills.Through the students'independent or cooperative exploration under the guidance of teachers,the skills education of historical information collection and organization,the ideas and abilities of discussion and exchange of historical knowledge,and the skills of organizational history interpretation can be permeated.Skills in penetrating examination and reflection on historical interpretation;Permeate the concept and skill of solving historical problems and proposing meaningful historical problems.The history education under the guidance of this syllabus gives students more space to explore independently or cooperatively.Through different forms of exploration and communication,students can better internalize their cognition and understanding of historical concepts and test their own or others' historical cognition through practice.In addition,attention has been paid to the cultivation of historical values.The syllabus emphasizes the significance of learning history in order to guide present or future social life with past experiences or influences.At the same time,the purpose of learning history is to become an active and dedicated social citizen,to become a new century talent with a sense of identity and belonging to the country and the nation,and to adapt to and influence this era of globalization and information.From the world view,the national view,the social view,the citizen view,the global view,the national view and so on many aspects permeates the value idea cultivation.So that the values of history education can directly serve the development of Singapore to make a positive contribution to the progress.Under the guidance of the outline,students have a positive recognition of the country,society,nationality and other macro fields,and at the same time,they also have a positive cognition of study life,family life and interpersonal life.Under the guidance and encouragement of teachers and peers,every student who studies history can fully participate in historical exploration,actively discuss and express opinions and conclusions,organize materials and information in a coherent way,and make conclusions or judgments in a creative and critical way.To guide students to communicate in an inclusive and friendly atmosphere,to guide students to fully respect individuals with different cognitive and cultural backgrounds,to guide students to dare to express and show uncertain conclusions,to guide students to help each other to overcome difficulties and differences in exploration.This kind of encouraging and guided teaching,so that students' interest in inquiry and persistence can be enhanced.The historical exploration carried out in junior high school will be more harmonious and independent,and the participation and completion degree will be improved,which will make the exploration inevitable and fruitful.In addition,the outline of the historical exploration of the resource development and supply is also a collective effort.Required course teachers set up project team to develop course resources,the requirements to use local or other place can use resource of field investigation,the requirements that the content of the textbook provides a rich resource and information technology resources retrieval window,requires collaboration of humanities faculty,the alumni,parents,stakeholders to participate in school
