Physical education is an important part of college education and a key means to train students to participate in physical exercise for life.As one of the most extensive sports in college teaching,basketball is deeply loved by teachers and students.However,traditional teaching methods of skill mastery are still adopted in teaching,and single techniques are imparting and repeated exercises in class,which cannot meet the learning needs of students.In this case,the competition teaching method can highlight the main role of students and enhance their interest in learning.For this reason,this study tries to introduce"competition teaching method" into basketball teaching,aiming to explore the influence of competition teaching method on girls' sports learning interest,physical quality and basketball skill level.In Suzhou university of applied technology college freshman girls basketball elective classes as experimental objects,two classes randomly chosen experimental classes and that in comparative classes,respectively,each 30 people,12 weeks of teaching experiments,the experimental group using game teaching method,the control group using skills to grasp the method of teaching,in both before and after the experiment on two groups of subjects in physical education learning interest questionnaire survey,testing body quality and basketball technology,using SPSS25.0 to mathematical statistics,the following results:1.After the experiment,there were significant differences in the three dimensions of "positive attitude toward physical education learning,negative attitude toward physical education learning,and independent learning ability" in the indicators of the experimental group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in "degree of physical education attention and exercise"(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the control group(P>0.05).2.After the experiment,the results of 800m,standing long jump and 10m*5 round run in the physical fitness indexes of the experimental group showed significant difference(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference between the 50m and the sitting body forward bend(P>0.05).In the control group,there was no significant difference in the results of standing long jump,sitting body bending forward,and 10m*5 round-trip(P>0.05).3.After the experiment,the experimental group had significant differences in the basketball technique of shooting in one minute and layup in three steps outside the three-point line in one minute(P<0.05).In the control group,there was no significant difference in the results of 1-minute shooting and 1-minute layup outside the 3-point line(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Competition teaching method improves students' learning interest,makes students actively participate in basketball learning and competition,enhances students'learning desire and enthusiasm,strengthens students' learning motivation,and is easier to achieve the expected teaching goal than traditional teaching method.However,in terms of sports attention and exercise,the teaching method of competition failed to raise girls'attention to sports.2.Compared with traditional teaching methods,the competition teaching method can improve students' endurance quality,explosive force and lower limb strength,but has no significant effect on their speed quality and flexibility.3.After the experiment,the students in the experimental class mastered the comprehensive skills of dribbling and passing better than those in the control class.
