In line with the requirements of the new curriculum reform,considerable attention is needed to pay to probe an optimum balance between knowledge transmission and ability advancement with ever-increasing awareness of that the goal of education is no longer to tackle with examinations,but to meet the needs of students' permanent improvement.It is imperative to improve the students' ability of physical experiment by taking physical experiment as the carrier.Aims to ascertain the current situation of senior high school students' physical experiment ability and propose corresponding culture suggestions,this paper inquire into the evaluation system of physical experiment ability of senior high school students.Two forms run through the physics experiment education in Senior High School:demonstration experiment and group experiment,which can also be used to verify the level of students' physical experiment ability.Analysis from three perspectives,paper and pencil test,operation test and demonstration experiment observation,are conducted to evaluate the capability level of physics experiment of senior students in the first grade in this study.Firstly,the connotation of physical experiment ability is summarized by combing the literature,and the physical experiment ability is divided into 6 first level indexes and 18 second level indexes by Primary Trait Analysis.In addition,the evaluation system of senior high school students' physical experiment competence is fabricated by expert investigation and Rank-sum ratio.On account of the evaluation system,the paper and pencil test,operation test and demonstration experiment observation scale are designed to quantitatively analyze the physics experiment ability of students.The results show that:(1)the overall level of students' physical experiment ability is acceptable with satisfactory experimental observation ability,comprehend ability and operation ability,while the capacities of collecting and processing data,and experimental design are poor,which displays that the current training of high school students' physical experiment ability is not comprehensive and lack of the cultivation about thinking ability.(2)There is a strong correlation lies in the level of students' physical experiment ability and physical exam performance rather than the students' gender,indicating that the ability affects the exam performance,regardless of the gender,implying the emphasis of cultivating students' self-confidence in improving ability.(3)Except for the observation ability,the paper-pencil test results of this study are basically in accordance with the results of operation test and demonstration experiment observation,indicating that an excellent paper and pencil test is adept in measure students' physical experiment ability with marvelous accuracy,while operation test and demonstration experiment observation can evaluate students' ability more intuitively and directly.
