| Liang Qichao was a great enlightenment thinker in modern China and also an educator.His thinking on education originated from integration of both Chinese traditional culture and modern culture in the west in his long term education practice.They were innovative in China's modern history of education.Liang Qichao proposed the combination of intellectual education,emotional education,and aesthetic education centering on modern personality based on the goal to strengthen the country and transform its people.It showed that Liang Qichao focused on improving individuals' all-round qualities and followed the education principle of putting people first.It not only fundamentally changed Chinese traditional thinking on education,but also provided experience and enlightenment to the education in our time.When we reflect on our education,we can find that most schools overemphasize the intellectual education,the examoriented education and the education that can increase promotion rate.They ignore the quality education that guides a folk to be a human being.Education in essence is for people,of which Chinese language education is the cornerstone of the overall education with the characteristics of putting people first.My thesis analyzes Liang Qichao's thinking on Chinese education to get its unique and deep meaning,and exposes its inspirational impact on Chinese education in our era and its value.My thesis concentrates on his thinking on education,his thought of Chinese education,and the unique enlightenment of his thinking on Chinese education for teaching Chinese in contemporary China.First,my thesis generally introduces Liang Qichao's thinking on Chinese education after analyzing his thinking on education.The analyzation is conducted mainly in terms of the development phases of his thinking on education and the origin of that thinking,then my thesis clarifies his thinking on Chinese education and points out that his thinking on education shares theories and practice with his thinking on Chinese education.Second,my thesis discusses about Liang Qichao's thinking on Chinese education mainly in terms of theories that his thinking was based on,the strategies of teaching Chinese,features and influence.These theories uphold that education should be aimed at cultivating people,and moral and aesthetic education each plays a significant role in it,upgrading students' comprehensive qualities.The strategies of teaching Chinese are keeping the characteristics of the Chinese in mind,choosing or compiling appropriate textbooks,following the common principles of teaching Chinese like the principles of enlightenment,gradual progress and explicitness and exploring the methods to put the aforementioned into effect(principally in teaching students to read and write.The features are that Liang Qichao's thinking on Chinese education displays his political purposes,is related to literature to some extent,and combines theories with practice.The formation of his thinking is benefited from “the shared information”.His thinking exerted great impact on the Chinese educators around him and even on the Chinese educators in his era.In the end,my thesis talks about the enlightenment of Liang Qichao's thinking on Chinese education for teaching Chinese,which is to focus on the target of Chinese education and to comprehensively foster the students' all-round moral,intellectual,physical and aesthetic grounding with a hard-working spirit.The enlightenment for teaching students to read Chinese books is that fostering core qualities should be at the core,and teachers and students reading a series of articles on the same or several topics should gradually become one of the ways to teach students to read.The enlightenment for teaching students to write is that compositions of Chinese should be developed in a more scientific and systematic way.Therefore,after collecting materials about Liang Qichao's thinking on education,my thesis generally introduces his thinking on Chinese education,and elaborates and analyzes the theories and practice of this thinking.I try to find the solutions to the problems facing the Chinese education nowadays under the background of “ educating people and fostering their morality” as well as based on the aforementioned theories and practice.I hope that it can help to solve the related problems that Chinese teachers are facing in the period of reform so as to promote progress in teaching Chinese. |
