The education work of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee put forward the educational goal of improving moral education and cultivating people with all-round development.The Curriculum Standard of Geography for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)points out that it is necessary to cultivate students' initial ability to deal with population,resources,environment and development issues.Geography ability is the concrete manifestation of training junior high school students to learn geography useful for their lifelong development,and is also an important embodiment of cultivating all-round development talents.And geography image teaching is an important teaching way to cultivate students' geography ability.This paper USES literature research of geography image teaching and geography subject ability to the concept,characteristics and their relations,through the questionnaire survey method,classroom observation and interview method analysis of junior high school geography image teaching,on the basis of the present situation and the existing problems in geography teaching under the guidance of the theory,explore and empirical image teaching of geography subject ability training,the relationship between Through the implementation of classroom teaching and the evaluation and analysis of the effect,this paper puts forward the optimization and suggestions of middle school geography classroom image teaching.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Analysis of the relationship between image teaching and the ability of geography.Geographic image is the unity of geographical elements,can show the spatio-temporal relations of geographical things,can help students to understand the representation of geographical things,and is the knowledge carrier to cultivate students' geographical discipline ability.The intuitiveness of image teaching conforms to the psychological cognition law of junior high school students,which is beneficial to the unity of visual and auditory senses in the learning process of students,and is an effective teaching method to cultivate students' ability of geography.Different types of images have different guiding effects on the cultivation of students' geographic ability.(2)Through questionnaire survey and interview,it is found that there are some problems in image teaching in junior middle school.First,teachers have not a comprehensive understanding of the types of geographical images,and their professional ability to use geographical images in teaching needs to be strengthened.Secondly,there are few geographical image resources and materials supporting the textbook,so it is necessary to establish a geographical image resource database which is related to social life and is compatible with the textbook,so as to provide materials and materials for the image teaching of geography teachers.It also reflects that students are learning geography courses,and points out that the geographical image in the textbook is biased to the theoretical knowledge system,and has little connection with students' actual life,and there is little geographical image information based on students' local area.At the same time,students have different degrees of mastering different types of geographical images,especially the ability to compare the characteristics and causality of geographical things is relatively weak.(3)Focusing on the study of geographical images Based on the teaching application of cultivating students' geographical subject ability,this paper takes the geographical location and natural environment in Northeast China as an example to conduct classroom demonstration on cultivating students' geographical subject ability through image teaching.The result of ability effect evaluation of class examples shows that students can better implement the ability of geography subject on the basis of intuitionistic,specific and interesting images.On the contrary,students' ability to learn abstract and strong thinking activities is relatively weak.(4)Based on the ability evaluation results of image teaching examples and teaching reflection,this paper puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions on geography image to cultivate junior high school students' geography discipline ability.First,it guides students to analyze the geographical image elements and understand the geographical differences and connections of geographical things.Secondly,the comparative analysis of geographical images should be used reasonably to understand the geographical causality of geographical things.Third,strengthen students' practice of making geographical images and practice their comprehensive ability of geography;Fourth,focus on the overall view of geographical things,the implementation of spatial distribution awareness ability.The teaching suggestions put forward in this paper have strong operability and practicability,which can enrich the geography image teaching methods in junior high schools.
