With the continuous promotion of the reform in basic education,an increasing number of schools,teachers and scholars have been committed to the practice of educational reform,aiming at constructing an efficient classroom teaching mode in which teacher can lead the class scientifically and students will be able to function as significant roles.To realize the goal of living up to the requirements of the new curriculum standards,satisfying the real needs of teaching,and promoting the achievement of the teaching objectives of politics courses in senior high schools,this paper has made a research and reflection on self-directed learning of politics courses in senior high schools based on existing research theories.By the means of self-directed learning before politics classes,it is of benefit to make it possible for the students to serve as main roles in class,improve class efficiency,foster students'awareness of cooperation and innovation,enable teachers to guiding the class progress effectively,speed up carrying out the new curriculum reform so as to take maximum advantage of politics courses in senior high school.However,as the result of the research conducted by the writer indicates,the present self-directed learning in politics courses in senior high school is not quite rational.The problems are mainly as the followings:firstly,without a specific self-directed learning plan before class,most of the students lack this learning habit and perform poorly in persistence;secondly,the content for the students to direct themselves to learn have its limitations;thirdly,the students can assess comparatively monotonous forms of self-directed learning;fourthly,there is no sound evaluation mechanism for the teachers.Through analysis,there exist four causes behind these problems.First,there is lack of a recognition of the significance of self-directed learning,including both teachers and students:the students attach little importance to it and the teacher do not change their point view of teaching,tending to ignore the importance of self-directed learning before class and be affected be the college entrance examination-oriented policies.Second,the students do not have the adequate cultivation of this learning strategy and a positive interaction between the teacher and students has not been built.Thirdly,there is no mature self-directed learning mode or plan in politics courses of senior high schools for the teachers to adopt.Fourthly,the current unbalanced possession of information technology has a negative impact on the effect of the self-directed learning in politics courses in senior high schools.Concerning those problems existing in the present politics courses,the writer believes that it is crucial for schools to build up a thorough institutional system,and create an excellent learning atmosphere for self-directed learning in politics courses of senior high schools,that the teachers' role in class should be pinpointed so that they can offer scientific research,that the student are obligatory to transfer their conventional learning habit to participate in self-directed learning activities actively,and that the government focus on the fairness in information technology.
