| In the latest "curriculum standard of biology in senior high school(2017 Edition)" published by the Ministry of education of China,the new curriculum concept is put forward,which advocates senior high school biology to let students participate in hands-on and brain activity,to let students master the big concept of biology through inquiry learning,and to promote the cultivation of core quality of students' biology subject through academic evaluation."5E" teaching mode is a kind of inquiry teaching mode proposed by the American Biological Science Curriculum Research Association Based on constructivism,which divides the classroom into five parts: Engage,Explore,Elaborate and Evaluate."5E" teaching mode is highly consistent with the new curriculum standard teaching concept,so it is of great practical significance to study the application effect of "5E" teaching mode in high school biology classroom through practice.In the early stage of this study,we used questionnaires to understand the current situation and teaching gap of biology classroom between the villages of northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta.The results show that compared with the villages of northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta,the teaching mode in the villages of northern Guangdong is more traditional,which is manifested in less biological classroom exploration activities,less interaction between teachers and students,less active classroom atmosphere,short attention concentration time of students,and no active participation In classroom teaching.In view of this situation,the biological teachers in the villages of northern Guangdong are interviewed to try to use the new teaching mode.According to the survey and interview results,the practice of "5E" teaching mode is carried out in the villages of northern Guangdong.In the practice of "5E" teaching mode,three typical cases are selected: nucleus,the control center of the system,which uses data analysis and biological modeling as the exploration way;inquiry into the water absorption and loss of plant cells,which uses experiments as the exploration way,and inquiry into the process of photosynthesis,which uses the history of biological science as the exploration way.Then through the experimental research method,the "5E" teaching mode and the traditional teaching mode are compared.In the later stage,we compare the differences between the two models by comparing thestudents' academic performance,investigating the evaluation scale of biological learning interest,the questionnaire of the current situation of biology class in senior one and the achievement of biological scientific inquiry.The results show that: after the implementation of "5E" teaching mode,compared with the control class,the experimental class has four changes as follows:(1)Compared with the control class,the average score of biology in the experimental class was 5.27 points higher,P= 0.039,which shows that "5e" teaching mode can significantly improve students' learning performance.(2)The biological learning interest of the experimental class is higher than that of the control class.There is a significant difference between the two classes.The significance value is 0.028.(3)The behavioral participation,cognitive participation and emotional participation of the experimental class are better than those of the control class,and there are significant differences between the experimental class and the control class,the significance values are 0.017,0.034 and 0.022,respectively,which shows that the "5E" teaching mode can significantly improve students' participation in the biological class.(4)The level of scientific inquiry ability of experimental class was higher than that of control class(P = 0.002).It can be seen that the "5E" teaching mode can significantly improve the students' ability to explore biological science and help them develop the core quality of biological subject.The "5E" teaching mode is more in line with the teaching concept of the new curriculum.It not only changes the current situation of biology teaching in the villages of northern Guangdong,where the students' interest level in biology learning is average and the participation level in the middle and lower levels is average,but also improves the students' learning achievement and scientific inquiry ability,and improves the teaching quality.Therefore,the education department in the villages of northern Guangdong Province should strengthen the teacher training,and the school should perfect the supporting experimental equipment;the teachers in the northern mountainous area of Guangdong Province should constantly improve their own quality,master the use strategy of the "5E" teaching mode,at the same time,establish a reasonable learning group to optimize the students' own resources,so as to promote the "5E" teaching mode in the villages of northern Guangdong more quickly and comprehensively,and give full play to the advantages of "5E" teaching mode. |
