Lifelong learning is a must if we want to adapt to current society and achieve individual development in the age of the continual renewal of science and technology.Therefore,the learning ability,sum capability and reflective ability are of particular importance.At the same time,National Biology Curriculum Standards for Senior High School advocates diversified teaching methods with inquiry as the core,and encourages students to have in-depth understanding and thinking on the learning contents,so as to acquire high-level cognitive ability.As a visual thinking tool,mind mapping needs to reorganize and condense information after obtaining it,and make internal logical connections between keywords and pictures to form a network,which can exercise the students' thinking ability and ability to organize and compress information.After the consultation of the literature about mind mapping and biology teaching,it is found that there are few research examples of biology teaching for students in cram schools.In this circumstance,for these cram students' sake,the author particularly designed a method of biology teaching combined with mind mapping based on my own teaching experience and relevant literature.In the research,some cram students in the experimental high school in Mianyang city,Sichuan province,were selected as the studying objects.Students in Class 20 and 27,two parallel classes and students in Class18 and 21,two rocket classes were chosen.Experimental groups are Class 20 and Class21,whose students were taught through mind mapping while Class 18 and Class 27 were the control groups,whose students were taught by routine teaching.By comparing the experimental results between the experimental groups and the control groups,this paper explores the effect of mind mapping teaching on the current teaching of students in the cram school,and provides targeted and referential teaching cases for biology teaching.The main research results are as follows:1.The implementation of mind mapping teaching can significantly improvestudents' academic performance,perfect students' methods of learning and reviewing,and greatly boost students' cognitive management.2.Mind mapping not only prominently improves students' grades in parallel classes,but plays a positive role in students in rocket classes,though their advancement extent is smaller than that in parallel classes.3.There is no distinct difference in the effect of mind mapping on different genders,which means that boy students and girl students can be helped equally by mind mapping.4.Though it is of little help to the students' memory level and understanding level,mind mapping has a significant effect on the improvement of comprehensive application ability.
