As the fundamental subject of sciences,physics is deeply concerned with the development of science and technology of a country,and the great importance of physics is obvious.However,physics is also recognized as a difficult subject.Many rural high school students,especially underachievers,with low level of learning and bad learning habits,often feel discouraged in physics class.Taking Jiafa High School in Nanling County as an example,this paper first analyzes the problems underachievers have in learning physics.On the basis of that,the author proposed strategies used in class and after class: on the one hand,helping students improve their study methods and learning efficiency by changing teaching methods;on the other hand,developing appropriate psychological counseling strategies to help students build confidence and raise their enthusiasm and participation in physical class.A two-pronged approach ensures effective implementation of the research strategies.The research is mainly divided into three stages: the first stage is the preparation stage of the research;the main work is the questionnaire survey which deeply investigated the underachievers' learning difficulties and the causes.The second stage is the strategy implementation stage;carrying out the research strategies aiming at improve the learning efficiency in physical class.The third stage is the summary stage,analyzing the experimental data,and summarizing and discussing the experimental results.The pre-research questionnaire survey shows that the reasons for high school students' physics learning difficulties are mainly rooted in three aspects: physical foundation level,learning interest and learning initiative.Based on this,the research focuses on information technology-based teaching,and proposes strategies for in-class and after-class.After one semester of comparative experiment teaching,the author did the post questionnaire survey and analyzed the grades of the experimental class.In the end,the experiment data shows that the implementation of the strategies is effective in improving the learning efficiency of underachievers.The strategies also correct the students' learning attitude,cultivate the students' good study habits,enhance the students' self-confidence,and improve their learning level and study quality,which benefits the long-term development of them.All in all,the differentiated instruction teaching method in physics class makes up for the simplicity of traditional class,which makes it possible to satisfy the need of students in different level and provide individual guidance for underachievers at the same time.
