Time and space are the two basic elements that form history.The generation and development of historical events are shown through certain activities of time,space and characters,while the historical map plays a bridge role in connecting time,space and activities of characters.Liang qichao pointed out in his preface to the evolution of geography in China that "the spatial concept is uncertain if one reads the history and does not know the geography,such as building a house and undoing its foundation".The establishment of the concept of historical space is the foundation of learning history.Junior high school students are in the transition from youth to youth,this age group of students,the development of image thinking ability is obviously better than the ability of abstract thinking.Compared with abstract text,historical map is more specific and visualized,which enables students to intuitively perceive history and form historical representation.It is helpful for students to understand the background,process and rule of historical development.In the basic concept of the history curriculum standards for compulsory secondary schools issued in 2011,it is clearly stated that "the new curriculum standards based on the popularization of history knowledge will not only enable students to master the basic knowledge of Chinese and foreign history,but also provide them with the basic methods and skills of learning history".The second point in the process and method description also mentioned that "in the process of learning history,students should gradually learn to master the comprehensive concept of time sequence and region".Therefore,teachers should attach importance to the application of history map teaching and master the teaching method of history map if they want to junior high school in the study of history.However,in the current history map classroom teaching,the teacher teaching method is improper and the lack of students' reading and drawing ability training and other problems are widespread.Historical map is an important part of history textbooks in middle schools,it is an important resource for teachers to teach,but also an auxiliary material for students to learn.Therefore,it is ofgreat practical significance to explore the role and application of historical map in history teaching in middle schools.Firstly,the historical map is of great significance to the new curriculum reform.The new curriculum reform emphasizes that students should give full play to their initiative and participation in teaching.Making full use of the history map can improve students' interest in learning and improve the effectiveness of history classroom teaching.At the same time,the process of historical map mining is also the process of curriculum resources development and utilization research,which has far-reaching significance for the long-term development of history.Secondly,adapt to the needs of the reform of high school entrance examination.The intersection of subject knowledge in the "comprehensive literature" examination is becoming more and more obvious,and the historical map has become an important link to communicate the knowledge of other subjects.In recent years,there has been a trend of "there must be a map" in the middle school entrance examination.Finally,it is instructive to promote in the process of teaching the historical map,the historical map plays a very good role for teachers,which can help teachers to complete teaching tasks efficiently and efficiently.It is also an auxiliary material for students to learn,which can help students better master historical knowledge.However,there are various problems in history teaching in reality,such as: teachers do not pay attention to the use of historical maps,are not good at selecting historical maps,and fail to teach students a complete method of learning historical maps.Therefore,how to solve the problem that historical map is not valued in teaching is very urgent.The research of this paper hopes to arouse the high attention of middle school history teachers and students to the historical map,and to contribute to the history teaching of middle school through the research.
